Jeebers. This place is unreal. What it reminded me of was the absolute ultimate in your own home bar. As in, a bar that had been cultivated over years and years and years, with collections across countries and decades, to come up with the most wonderous, fabulous, awesome in the true sense of the word, collection. Honestly. You need to just come and stand and have a look at the bar. It’s really ridiculous. Anything you want, they got it. And a better version of that too. So, it stands to reason that they will have some of the best cocktails in Dublin. Natch. Add onto that extremely genial bar men, some lovely light bites, and a serious comfy atmosphere(it’s seating room only, so you’ll never be too packed in), and you my friend are onto an absolute winner. They even have a roof terrace for the summer months. Love. It.

This is easily Dublin’s best cocktail bar. We come here regularly and it’s always excellent. Tell Paul or Alan what liquor you like and they’ll craft bespoke cocktails that are really delicious. Well priced with a snug interior and gorgeous terrace, this is as good as it gets!

I live nearby and I’ve visited upstairs many more times than I care to mention but I am always pleasantly surprised with the new creations Alan and Paul serve up! While they are willing to make a classic cocktail, where they really excel is when you give them licence to make something new. If you care about your cocktails and are willing to spend a little more as a result, then upstairs is the place for you. What’s really special about this place is its location, hidden away over kinara and also the terrace, which will be fantastic if the summer ever arrives! I would have no hesitation in saying upstairs is the best cocktail bar in Dublin.

Went here last night and think it’s an absolutely lovely spot! The barman asks for your preferences and then prepares a drink which in my case was Corn & Oil a cocktail based on a 18th century recipe. Would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely come back with more friends.

I had never heard of this place before, but came in for a friend’s going away party. The bar is actually above Kinara Kitchen, but you have to ring a bell for the door just to the right of the actual door to Kinara Kitchen. The owner came down, said and just said, «yes?» For a moment, I wondered if we were in the right place, and just said, I think we are meeting here for a friend’s party? He responded, oh yes, just upstairs! Once inside, you see a nice cozy bar area with their cocktail menu. The bartenders were happy to explain what the different cocktails were. The average price for a cocktail was 10 euros, which I thought was about on par for a place like this. It is very clear that this place takes their cocktails seriously, and apparently the owner has actually won several mixology awards. The drinks were fab! Oh, and did I mention there is an outdoor patio? They have a lovely terrace area with heat lamps for when it’s a bit chilly. The only downside of this place, in my opinion. is that there isn’t much here in the way of food. They do offer a platter with tika chicken, deep fried potato slices, calamari, and lamb balls for 14 euros, but these are the only 4 food options they offer. It would be nice if you were able to order from the menu downstairs in Kinara, but I do understand that this is considered a separate place. And in fairness, it is a smaller bar, so their space would be limited in terms of a kitchen up there.
