Yam!

I tried the pulled pork and beans and it was super tasty! Staff are really friends and food prices are good!

Well what can I say? If you love Brother Hubbard then you’ll love Sister Sadie. Atmosphere was chill and hipster with plenty of nice seating. Food was the typically high standard that you’ve come to expect from these guys. Get here, eat and enjoy. The only con is that there isn’t one of these on every corner :(

Ok, so I NEVER review places. But this time I felt compelled to review this place. Honestly the service is ABSOLUTELYSHOCKING! We waited here for a table for 20 minutes which was fine, however after we say down we waited 10minutes for a waiter and a further 20 minutes for 2 cups of tea because of a power outage. This would have all been ok except that 3 other couples who came in after us were SERVEDANDFINISHEDTHEIRFOOD in the time it took us to be served. Yes they were busy but it’s extremely bad form to forget about a table. Regardless of the quality of the good which I have yet to taste, I doubt I’ll ever be back1

Delicious food, loved the hot chocolate. Would love more comfortable seating but understand the stools etc add to the aesthetic. They don’t cater for young children at all and when I went with my toddler I felt *very* unwelcome and ended up taking my coffee to go. A bit of a shame as we’d gone at a quiet time, which I always do when out for food with toddler, and there wasn’t much other custom going on, am sure they’re busy enough to not need the extra customer base of parents and kids though. Understandable, but disappointing, am doomed to bad coffee and vacuum packed scones in play cafes it would seem!

As cool as it gets without getting annoyingly hipstery. Place was packed at lunch time and we were a table of 5, but waited only 5 minutes to be seated. Service was efficient and fast which is a huge asset on lunch break to keep people coming back. Ordered the potatoes and chorizo and left a happy girl with a full tummy.

Myself and a friend had a gorgeous dinner here last night. There was lots of space and the waiter was friendly. The food and wine we had were all top notch with the middle easter mess(take on the traditional eton) knocking my socks off. Service was mayve a tad slow given there were only a handful of people. I was here for lunch when it first opened and haven’t been back since as that wasn’t a great experience, I felt like the customers were being packed in like sardines and we were given our bill straight after we finished lunch without being asked if we wanted tea or coffee. So I’ll be avoiding lunch and heading here for cosy dinners instead.

I didn’t really know what to think of this place when I first tried it out. The hipster vibe kind of turns me off. And the food seemed to have too many ingredients(mint on everything). But I have been back a few times recently and tried out some different dishes and I have to say I’ve been won over. Even though the neighborhood has a huge selection of lunch destinations, Sister Sadie is still one of the only places with a really nice seating area, lots of light, and lots of brunch options all day long. I would really recommend the hummus dish and their Moroccan ice tea. The staff have been good every time I have been there; last time I was there they forgot to bring one of my orders and once they realized it they offered me a free beverage or cake.

I dropped in here for lunch one day. I must say, I loved the place. It has a very relaxed vibe. The food is very fresh and you really feel like you are eating a very healthy meal! I had the soup and salad and it was lovely! The staff are friendly and you are even given a free piece of fruit when leaving, if you want one! Amazing! Definitely one to drop into if you are in the area! :)

I’ve gone by here on the bus so often that I almost forgot it existed until a friend recommended it for brunch, and I’m so glad he did! It’s in a really nice spot on Harrington Street, just off the corner of Camden Street and there’s a really nice seating area outside that we were lucky enough to get a table in. The first thing that caught my eye was the Baklava French Toast and although I was almost swayed a couple of times by the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Shakshuka Baked Eggs, the french toast won in the end and I opted for the Lemon and Ginger Punch to wash it down. The first thing that struck me was how generous the portion was. Two big thick slices of sourdough bread with a generous dollop of mascarpone, apples, berry compote and walnut baklava. It honestly was french toast perfection. I’m always a little apprehensive about getting something sweet for brunch as I wonder if I’ll be left wanting more but I was completely satisfied after this and the punch was great too, really refreshing! I’ll definitely be back here, they have a great menu and there’s a lovely vibe around the place. They also do take-away and there was a nice selection of pastries in on the counter if you are looking for a quick bite. Price-wise too it was really good value at just under € 15 for what I had. I didn’t give it the full 5 stars however as the service was a bit slow and as they weren’t completely packed I was left wondering why but apart from that it was great!

I’ve always wanted to work in town… the after work shopping trips and drinks and the huge choice for lunch and dinner — all the stuff you don’t get when you work in an industrial estate in D12! The main part I’m envious of is the food options though… I constantly see people on social media who get to sample all the new spots on their lunch while I sit at my desk or in our canteen with my home made soup or salad, struggling to make it around all the latest hotspots over the weekend. One such place that I’d heard lots about is Sister Sadie on Harrington Street… my only experience was reading others reviews and flying past it on the bus into town. Being close to Hatch Street, it’s got the benefit of proximity to Aviva and Deloitte and I’ve often jealously viewed the tweets from workers who can pop in for a bite to eat on their break. As a sister restaurant to the ever popular Brother Hubbard, it has always had a lot to live up to — and for me it certainly did! My review is split over two visits, one for lunch while on a quick break from a yoga workshop nearby and then a flying visit for a solo coffee and cake date. On the side of a gorgeous leafy street, they’ve made the most of all available space with a cute outdoor«non-smoking area» — delightful, I can eat my lunch outdoors without the smoke! The indoor area is funky and modern with desk-type tables and some pretty cool light fixtures. There’s also a section with some packaged foodstuff for sale — I didn’t even look as I know I would have bought ITALL! I loved the little touches like the cute salt and pepper holders. The menu offered enough to keep anyone happy… a few smaller and healthy options like the granola or bircher bowl then more substantial choices of Baklava French Toast, Turkish Eggs, Beans & Pulled Pork. There is a Middle Eastern emphasis on many of their dishes and they have just recently started Supper evenings along the same line. Trying to keep lunch somewhat light and healthy we went for the regular Bircher bowl of oats with dried fruits, toasted nuts, crème fraiche, a drizzle of maple syrup and pomegranate seeds(€ 6.50) & the special of the day, Sabiche salad and warm flatbread — chargrilled aubergine with spiced potatoes, cucumber tomato and red onion salad with tahini yogurt(€ 10.95). Both dishes were substantial, healthy and so tasty. The salad part of my dish was light and fresh, the aubergine still had a nice bite and the flatbread was perfect for clearing the end of the dressing from the plate. The staff were super cool and friendly and managed to rush everything for us to get back to our yoga moves on time :-) My second visit was an altogether less healthy affair and I plumped for a cappucino and the Chocolate & Hazlenut Scroll(€ 2.80)… in a word — AMAZE! I did have a slight speeding up of the heart with the sugar rush but the pastry was absolutely delicious and filled me for the morning :-) Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and now dinner too there is no excuse not to visit and try out this fantastic — and somewhat healthy — food!

I have to say that I like it. Turkish eggs and toasts. Good value for money(9,50). Eggs were scrambled with roast pepper which gives nice flavour, all was sprinkled with fresh herbs(coriander etc). My friend had eggs with humus and she was enjoying same as I did.

I’m kind of torn between four and five stars here. On the one hand, it wasn’t an experience that completely blew me away, and on the other, it was exactly what I needed, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Service is quick and very good, on walking inside it was made immediately clear what I had to do– there was none of that awkward confusion of «do I order here, or go and sit, or take a menu, or pay now, or pay later.» On sitting I was offered juice or coffee, going for the former, which was DELISH! Fresh and organic-tasting, and a nice big glass– I hate getting a small amount of orange juice when you’re really thirsty, as you only just start to enjoy it before it’s gone. I was kind of hoping there’d be a sweet breakfast option on here, French toast or pancakes or something, but instead I went for the bacon&egg sandwich with rocket, which was totally perfect and hit the spot so perfectly. Altogether around a tenner, which is grand! I’ll probably be back if I’m in the area.

Really great lunch spot. Very simple menu but the presentation and mix of salads eggs and meats really work together. Freshly squeezed orange juice to boot as well! I know it can get busy here but I haven’t had any trouble being seated on a Saturday. The staff are super nice and welcoming which really adds to the experience. It isn’t the most comfortable restaurant in the world as the seats and tables remind you more of a children’s play group but it still works. There is out door seating as well for that one day a year it is warm enough in Ireland to sit outside.

Cute, little place right off Camden! There is even a patio outside! I have had their pulled pork sandwich — huge portion and great flavor! The bread was also really fresh and hearty. The pork was a little on the salty side, but I really didn’t mind that! I’ve also had their eggs menemen, which were really delicious. Their lunch menu is heavy on the eggs, which isn’t typically my cup of tea. But if you love eggs, then you’ll love their menu! The staff came off a little cold, which didn’t make for the best experience. This is a contributor to the 4 stars. It’s also really cramped in there with hardly any room to get to a table or get up to leave. Not the most comfortable of restaurants! Pro tip: During the winter, they had this rich holiday hot cocoa — it was such a treat!

I’ve been to this place a good few times recently and I’m still loving it. The pulled pork sandwich was voted«the best sandwich in Dublin» and I’ve been here 3 times in so many weeks and just keep coming back to it! Phenomenal sambo! I really want try other things on the menu but the sandwich is too dam good not to order! The gf went for the healthy hummus option which looked amazing and I’m told tasted amazing too. The coffee was really tasty too. This place gets really busy come lunch time and brunch on the weekends is jammed. It seems this place is definitely one of those über cool Dublin brunch spots where it’s essential to be seen. Even with that I still find myself coming back for that dam tasty pulled pork sambo!!!

This place is not bad at all, it’s nice, really like the kind of places I’m a huge fan usually. We got there for a brunch with my boyfriend, we both had as a «starter» the porridge(I don’t remember the name but it’s pretty close to a porridge, without being a true one) this was really good, there are different things inside like mint leaves and grenada, etc which are very good. Also, the oat used for it is organic, so I’m not saying it’s gluten free but I personally wasn’t that sick after eating eat. After that, I had beans with pulled pork, it was pretty good, but nothing incredible tho. My boyfriend had the turkish eggs, and this was awesomely good, next time I’ll definitely take that one, unfortunately I did not take it that time because it comes on toasts, at least the beans were made without toasts, they only came on side. So the place is great, some of their food too, unfortunately not mine this time, and my coffee was not really good either so that’s why I’ll only put three stars, even if I’m pretty sure it would transform in a four starts next time I’ll go there. Also, the room in the back was really hot and a bit stinky, luckily it was a sunny day so we eventually ended up outside.

I had breakfast here a few days ago. It looks like a funky place for the outside. They have a little garden covered in astro grass. Looks cool and I’d say it’s amazing during the summer. I had a flat white — I knew it was going to be good. They use 3fe beans. It was damn good! I also ordered the bacon and cheese toasty from the breakfast menu added a fried egg too. Coffee came out in good time food follows just after. It was a seriously good breakfast. Would like to have lunch there as there lunch menu looks really good too. Ohh, inside is really modern, open and hip! Feels nice and open with nice a nice big window out to the street. The staff are really nice, polite and prompt. I’ll be back for more.

I’ve been in for coffee and scones. Take out lunch. Sit down lunch. All that’s left to try is their weekend brunch, which should be starting soon. Oh maybe a sit down breakfast too… hmmm so much choice! The coffee and scone was pretty good, I’ve had their orange blossom butter before and its still as good as I remember. Scone was very nice too. I can’t for the life of me how much the combo deal was. Hey, it’s an excuse to go back and check tomorrow. The sandwich I had as take out one day was ham, relish and other good things. Ham was off the bone, quality stuff. That was 5EUR as far as I remember. For the sit down lunch last week I went for the soup, which was I think butternut squash and coconut… it was a little sweet and the dried coconut shavings on top was a first for me. But it was thick and filling. The bread and hummus on the side was the highlight, it was so so good. I’d order that on its own if I could. I think the soup was 5.95EUR(head like a sieve). Sister Sadie, a really lovely addition to the neighbourhood. And as usual when I think of Sister Sadie, I get The Beatles track Sexy Sadie stuck in my head… oh, what have you done?

Pretty close to perfect as you can get really, as expected from the Bruvs & Sistahs of Hip. All rustic and cosy with cute little flowers and friendly staff. The cakes look fecking amazing — I shall definitely be trying them next time. I had a cauliflower and buttermilk soup which was really really good. Just imagine how bland it sounds, then go to the other end of the spectrum. Delish. I too would love them to open on weekends, or at least on Saturdays as their big north side bro does, but so far, it’s a thumbs up from this side!
