Great coffee, yummy food and fantastic and friendly service. What more could one ask for.

Stopped in here for a latte and a scone — pear almond?! Yes, I think so! I love berries but this was a really nice and interesting change. The coffee was expertly made too. I was there less than five minutes, but here’s why I still remember the experience fondly: on my way out I remembered my husband had wanted a tea, asked how much, came up short and said«never mind,» as we were heading to the airport. They stopped me and asked how much I had, then said that was fine and made me the tea anyway. The difference was less than a Euro, but that sort of kindness is much rarer where I come from! Cheers to the excellent staff, who treats customers like the humans they are.

Nothing says comfort quite like the simplicity of a hot coffee & a fresh scone. Baxter & Greene have taken this comfort to another level by taking all of the simplicity out of their scones by adding fruits to them — & not just your standard fruit scone with currants & raisins in it. I’m talking all sorts of fresh fruits — my favourite being the pear & almond scone with raspberry jam. A crunchy scone with a beautifully doughy inside that has large chunks of fresh juicy pear through it & flaked almonds on top. Counteract the sweetness of the pear with a tart raspberry jam & you are on to a winner. This plus a medium soya latte set me back a meagre € 3.75 — reasonably priced & totally delicious. Add to this the fact that the staff are so super friendly & you’re on to a winner! I’m only giving three stars because I would prefer a stronger coffee — that being said it still far outweighs the big name chains as far as taste goes!

Popped in for a quick coffee and scone before meeting around the corner, deliberately avoiding Starbucks. Lunch crowd had dissipated so only scraps appeared to be available. The solitary croissant and sad dry-looking danish on display were both skewered with a price tag. Latte was luke warm and bitter. Grim dining area with a view of the hotel car park. Sorry now I didn’t go to Starbucks. Hopefully their food is better but for a casual cuppa, no thanks.

This should really be a 2.5 rating. My coffee was luke warm and my scone dry and kind of stale …(and I could understand if this was late in the day, the scones would have been sitting there all day) but it was early afternoon during a busy lunch hour you would imagine there world be a quick turnover … My sister was happy with her salad and sambo so I might come back to try them. . Gets a bit crowded in there. and they have these awkward uncomfortable benches to sit on

I am amazed this place isn’t more popular. It always has a good crowd but I’ve never seen queues out the door, can’t get a seat busy. I think it might have a lot to do with it’s location, you could easily walk by it and maybe it’s name, which took a while for me to remember. Inside they have buffet style service. Everything seems to be under a tenner. You can choose to eat in or to take away(take out costs less). There’s a choice of hot dishes, salads, chips and rice. I usually get a big dish of everything, Chilli con carne, a couple of salads and some rice which comes to around 8 euro. My mother(usually my lunch companion) gets a generous side salad bowl which comes to around a fiver. The queue moves fast, which is important for a 1 hour lunch break and staff are friendly and helpful. After I eat I usually return to the counter and purchase a coffee which is delicious. Definitely a good spot for a work lunch. They have a big table at the centre of a café which would be excellent for big groups too.

I must say I’m not the biggest fan of their lunch time coffee shop. They haven’t got great options for vegetarians. They also sell out of the veggie option very fast… the beetroot salad is the only thing that occasionally gets me back BUT Their pizza bar in the evenings(after 5pm Wed-Sun) ISAMAZING. The pizza is so good and great value. It’s so fresh and full of flavor. If you are used to dominoes etc try the pizza here. It will blow your mind. I went once sit in(service was great and food was even better) and once for take-away. Pizzas are big, we got one to share and they were very accommodating to this.

Grand place for a coffee and a pastry if you are around the area. I wasn’t overly impressed by the fry I received — took about a minute to come out which meant the sausages and bacon had already been cooked and they tasted like it too. No relish on the bread as advertised.

3.50 yoyos for a coffee and a pastry? YUM! Although not yum for my waistline. Coffee is OK, I go for an americano, which is drinkable. The pastry is yum. I go for the Custard Crown. The place is basically the Café Sol it was before, but with smarter uniforms and hot food on offer. The manager, who I recognised from when it was Café Sol explained it was more or less the same. She also is a bit trigger happy with the loyalty card stamp, which is always a good thing.
