Man O’ War

We came here for a quick meal to fortify us for the
attraction nearby. It was maybe 1:45pm or so, and all they could prep for us quickly enough for our 2:30 appointment at
was their Guinness stew and some bread. It was delicious, so we were satisfied. The bartender was funny, and all staff were friendly.

Love this place. It’s full of character and I love the massive tree in the bar. Food is really yummy too. Can’t wait to go back!

The first thing I wanted to do when I got into Dublin was to have a drink at a real Irish pub. So three lovely sisters drove me out onto this dark, secluded road where there was nothing to be found until… BAM!
There it was, the Man O’ War, all by its lonesome. Even before stepping foot inside, I knew this was the pub I was looking for. I stepped inside to find a roaring fire burning peat and old furniture remains and nice, friendly crowd sharing stories and discussing the happenings of the week. I ordered up a glass of Paddy and enjoyed relaxing conversation with the three sisters. It was more than I could have hoped for after a long day of travel.

This pub is a local favourite. Warm, snug, and vintage; it’s a perfect place to nestle by their blazing fires on a cold winter’s evening. Their soup du jour is always a fantastic home-​made concoction — often very experimental, but don’t hesitate as it is always a delectable treat to the taste buds! The paninis are also a delight. I love how the welcoming and darling, family-​like staff make you feel right at home. From the outside, this place looks like a cute country cottage. The interior is unbelievably cool with the little knick-​knacks everywhere, and there’s even a really old tree growing up from the floor and through the ceiling in the middle of the place! At my old job, we used to go here for lunch every Friday — and the place would always be packed, so we used to have to order in advance. Go as soon as you can! And tell all your friends!
