Specialties
Frite Haus serves wonderful authentic Belgian fries and sausages with an Irish twist in the heart of Dublin 2. We have put a great deal of thought in to our menu, from our triple cooked house made potato chips, craft sauces and house made condiments, to our locally sourced artisan butcher sausages, Homemade Burgers and delish Chicken Wings. Great ingredients, expertly prepared and served in our relaxed Belgian style ‘Chip Shop’ restaurant.
History
Established in 2013.
Chips, frites, French fries, — call them what you like, but the humble fried potato stick is having a bit of a moment. The fancy Maison F cocktail bar and restaurant in central Paris specialises in them, with a constantly changing menu of three different varieties of fried potato as a bar snack. Here in Dublin, Padraic Hayden of Camden Kitchen has drawn on his experience of living in Brussels, where the chip is king, to open Frite Haus at 87 Camden Street. The Frite Haus chips (€ 3.50) are fried in beef dripping (vegetable oil by request) and you can choose from 20 house-made sauces to go with them as well as sausages and frankfurters (€ 6.95-€ 8.95).
Big thanks to the guys at The Dublin Diary for their review too. Click here for the full review but we really liked the bit where they said:
Both sausages came on really substantial (but not too substantial so as to detract from the flavour of the sausages) buns. More importantly they were topped with the most amazing deep fried onion ring
