I have actually never been into this place. The only food I have gotten from them have been from Deliveroo and it has been pretty consistently good(Deliveroo issues aside). Their ribs are nice and tender; falls right of the bone. You don’t even need a knife. The sausage is ok nicely BBQed but a little bland. They are still pretty nice too. The tenders were a bit soggy tasting but I guess that was due to the delivery box. Their sauces are lovely and go really well with the sausages and and chicken but there is never enough to dip everything. This would actually be a 3.5 star review but seen as Unilocal won’t let me do that I round it up. If I ever get to visit the restaurant I update the review.

Come Hungry ! Aussie BBQ is a Meat eaters paradise where you can smell the cooking from down the street! Easily has the best chips in Dublin, they’re refried in duck fat(nicer than it sounds I swear) I Usually go for the items that revolve around the pulled pork as thats the main draw for me, very good pricing also for the size of the portions they serve. Definitely a solid place to cure a hangover!

First, I need to say that I am big fan of this place. Been here so many times with friends, I believe that I have already order most of the food in their menu. I usually could not finish all of my food because it is always too much for me(huge with a lot cheese!!!) The sad thing is you always need to wait for so long to have a seat there. And once, I lose my number and I was afraid that me and my friend drove too far for no reason(luckily, we’ve been there so many times that they still remember our faces, lol). Aussie BBQ, pls open a new place in Blackrock soon!!!

Decent food, not as nice as other similar places that have pop up all over Dublin in the last 3 or 4 years but I’d say its also cheaper than most of the other hipster meat restaurants. Not amazing food but decent for the price

The last time I was in Ireland, which was about 4 – 5 months ago, I heard amazing things about Aussie BBQ, so I made sure to bookmark them for the future. Well the future has come, and the future is not impressed. My friends and I came here for dinner last night and the queue was pretty long, but not unbearable. The man at the register told us it would be a 20 minute wait, so we opted to wait at the bar. 20 minutes later, one of the ladies came and told us that there was one more party ahead of us, but we could order and eat at the bar if we wanted to. This would’ve been nice to know had they told us that when we came in, because we were starving; but that’s neither here nor there. I ordered the Queensland Red and a side of Boomerang Fries. The Queensland Red(€ 6.95) was a ½ lb beef burger patty topped with red cheddar, red lettuce, tomatoes, and carmelised red onions all lathered in their«Redrock Sauce». Or at least that’s what it was supposed to be. I was incredibly excited for my food to come because my stomach had been yelling at me for the past half hour, but even at that stage, I felt the food was subpar. You know it’s not good when you’re starving and still not having it! The burger was completely bland and tasteless, to the point where I deconstructed the entrée to eat it without the buns. Even then, the patty was lifeless. I gave it all I had; I wasn’t going to give up! I doused BBQ sauce all over my burger, but that kind of made it worse because their BBQ sauce was watered down. It’s like they tried to prolong the life of their BBQ tub; but who knows? All I know is that it wasn’t right. For something that’s so descriptive on the menu, I had higher expectations than what was given to me. To top it all off, my burger didn’t even have tomatoes in it. I also had a few strings of carmelised onions. The Boomerang Fries(€ 3) were fine. They’re fries double fried in duck fat, topped with boomerang seasoning. I’m not too sure what boomerang seasoning is, but it was tasteless as well. The fries were a little too heavy for me because of the duck fat, but they weren’t terrible. They were the best out of the two things I ordered. I’d imagine this would be great drunk food, though! So after my meal, naturally, I would freshen up in the restroom, but god-almighty, their restrooms are awful. The women’s was clogged with things floating in it, and what has been seen cannot be unseen! So I went into the men’s, to which I found to be surprisingly cleaner. I checked the servicing dates – they hadn’t been cleaned in a weeks time. Not only that, but the sink water trickles down. There is absolutely no pressure – how unsanitary is that?! My friend and I were appalled so we went to let one of the workers know about the condition upstairs. His response? «Is there water on the floor yet?» No apology, just a question of how-bad-has-it-gotten-because-I-couldn’t-care-less. In fairness, we approached the manager and he apologised and said that he would send someone right up. But even then, the attitude was palpable and certainly left an impression. After this experience, I wouldn’t come back. I don’t understand how this place gets a queue. Maybe it’s because they offer Kangaroo and Crocodile steaks, but I don’t need that in my life right now. Tl;dr — No.

I am probably the only person who doesn’t like this place. It is too busy, too small and the food isn’t great. It was chaos trying to order and so frustrating. The staff were nice enough but not overly helpful, they seemed too busy.

Before I start I just want to say, the service I received from waiters was absolutely fantastic. Such a friendly lovely bunch. I heard a lot about Aussie BBQ(AB) over the last few weeks and months, many saying it was absolutely fantastic if you love eating slabs of meat. Wanting a bit of a change from where I usually eat out, me and my girlfriend decided to go for it. Located just as you get off the number 15 bus, it was a bit out of the way for us however didn’t require much walking once you got off the bus. This place is a bit out of the way for north siders considering how many other eateries you would pass coming from Coolock or Beaumont, not their fault though. When we got in we expected a queue and a queue we got, have to say though, queues for restaurants don’t bother me much, considering it’s reputation I wasn’t surprised at the fact we waited a half hour until we got a table. In farness however, there were some birthday parties going on so this time could be different for you. I ordered the Aussie burger dressed as a great white(Extra cheese and bacon), ribs, a meat box(Containing beef, chicken and pulled pork), chilli wings and fries. I was a bit surprised that fries didn’t come with a burger but looking at the price it was still very reasonable. To give a lot of credit to them, they make a great burger and the fries were great too. I was a bit impressed with the ribs, so tender and literally just came off the bone, would like a bit more flavour though, however that’s just me. The wings and meat box were such a let down. Those chilli wings are the dictionary definition of «Food porn» but tasted like nothing. My girlfriend got the BBQ wings and they tasted the same as my chilli wings. Such a disappointment. The meat box too was a bit of a let down, the beef, which just seemed to be a burger lacking the bun tasted a bit too greasy, chicken was bland and the pulled pork had a sauce that I can only assume was made of a mayo base, tasted… alright but I couldn’t eat much as I have an egg allergy. Overall, I was very disappointed. This place was hyped up so much and I was really looking forward to it and I walked out wondering how plain tofu tastes more like chilli than those wings did. If someone wanted to go out for a great burger and fries that wasn’t the counter or GBK, I’d tell them to go to AB, only if they were in the area. You’ll be hard press to get me to go out of my way to spend a half hour/forty minutes on the bus and a 30 minute wait for another burger and fries considering the other options available on the way to AB.

The original and probably best The food is excellent if you like the glorified burning of food that is BBQ and I’m not being derogatory it is good You will have to spring for the more expensive items on the menu to appreciate the grub in its glory but it’s worth it Staff are nice but I did notice a large amount of grey cotton tracksuits among the clientele which means good food but also your wallet or car will go missing

This place is great value, friendly service and has a great atmosphere. Both myself and my boyfriend were looking for somewhere casual and tasty and this ticked both boxes! Boomerang fries are gorgeous, beer selection was great. I had the cockadoddle Cajun which was huge and my boyfriend got the ribs. Services here was fast, we opted to sit at the bar instead of a table and the guy running the place couldn’t have been nicer. Even gave us shrimp on the house! Definitely will be back :-)

While the burger was very good and big I am disappointed that they wont cook it the way the customer wants it. Some restaurants say food health and safety laws prevent them from doing so but many restaurants all over Ireland and in Dublin do it so ??? The chips were great and cooked in Duck Fat so seriously unhealthy but if your eating here then your health is not the reason so its easily over looked as they taste so damn good. The portions are huge and the service is slow and from reading the reviews they have issues with service anyway. I like the selection of Crocodile and kangaroo meat. I got a take away and it totaled 9 euro Would I go back??? nah? I prefer Bison.

Really great location in city centre. Funky décor on the inside. If you want their Aussie fries, I totally get that– they’re tasty. For anything else, go somewhere else. The quality of food is par. I had the pulled pork roll, and the pork had no flavor and was way too greasy. It’s pulled pork, pretty basic stuff. I also had their salted caramel shake, which was just cheap vanilla cream slightly blended, and 3 squirts of caramel. The hefty price didn’t make it better or even come close to worth it. The burgers are small and not anything to write home about. They do have some exotic game, hence Aussie in Aussie BBQ. I’ll admit I haven’t tried it, so maybe that’s what is really good here! This place just had a face lift a few months ago, but the service is still slow/bad and the queue is unmanageable. With some small operational improvements, this place could be a lot better. For example: I actually went in earlier today to find out they had ‘no chips’…this could be a distributor issue, but when one of the best selling items is the chips, you don’t run out.

Really enjoyed this, its unbelievably good value, myself and my boyfriend both ate here for like € 35. He had the beast box, which he really enjoyed, its pretty large though and he couldnt finish it. I wasn’t that hungry so i just had chicken tenders and fries which were really nice. The portion sizes are quite large, we got two fries but we didnt even make a dent in it so you would defo get away with 1 between two. The place is quite small though and as we were leaving there was a pretty large queue so if your in a hurry its probably not the best place for you to go. Overall, great spot!

This place is a real gem. Quirky, inventive menu with a few Aussie specials like Kangaroo, crocodile etc. The real stars though are the burgers and slow-cooked BBQ meats. Think similar style to Joburger/Bison etc but a LOT cheaper. One of the meat platters and chips would easily feed two. Been twice and thought staff were really nice, didn’t have any of the issues other reviewers had. It does always seem to be really busy though so maybe don’t go if you’re in a hurry.

Dammit. I want to love every bbq joint in town. But, I witnessed crimes against ribs, the likes of which I’ve never seen before. Gristly, tight meat, cooked too quickly, not marinated, barely even a hint of sauce. Sadface. Apart from criminal ribs, the Holy Tommorrah comes with two large sausages. Large is not a big enough word for them, but I’m not happy they’re sausages. You know the way a Jane Russell sausage tastes like it was once meat. You don’t get that here. We’re talking juicy in the wrong kind of way, with a plastic feel. The corn is hard to get wrong, they don’t. The pulled pork is average(a good average, but average). Worst of all they recommended a lame beer to accompany. Better off in Bison, Smokin Bones or Pitt Bros, unless you’re coming for the gimmick of croc or ‘roo.

I’ve been to Aussie BBQ a couple of times, though it does tend to become crowded with student and construction worker types at lunchtime, so not worth a detour even if you are tempted. The food is nothing special, but you will find something filling if you are hungry and other places beside it are full. They do regular burgers, chicken wings, fried chicken, along with some other meats. These have had a overly burnt look and taste on the occasions I have been there with friends. There is no dessert and the menu is limited. The restaurant is small and a bit grubby. The meat grilling happening as you come in the door will have you smelling like you have just been cooking meat in a caravan when you leave. So, not really a good choice if you are going back to an office or getting into your car. The worst part of this place is their staff. I have never come across a group of people so ill equipped to run a restaurant. There is a joke doing the rounds that they have been closed so often recently because their staff are doing rudeness refresher courses. I went there recently with a friend and we stood waiting on one of the empty tables for 5 minutes. I asked a passing waitress if I could take a seat and she abruptly answered that there were no seats. When I pointed to the empty tables, she said«alright» and literally threw menus at us. We sat and waited to be served for 15 minutes before asking another passing waitress if she would take our order. 5 minutes later she did. 10 minutes later the coke arrived but no food. In fact no food ever arrived. Eventually, after one hour, we had to go. Following another little flurry of Aussie BBQ rudeness, the lady took my details with a promise of a voucher to apologize. I have never heard back from them. They have worked hard for the honor, but they have managed to make my «Must avoid even if friends are curious» list.

Went in this evening(Wednesday) and the place was jammed! The smell of BBQ is immense and have heard great things about this place so had to check it out for myself, as I love a good meat feast! Waited over 45 minutes for a table for four people. When we got table, having looked at the Menus while waiting we were ready to order when we were seated. Half an hour later the waitress, after calling her over twice, took our order. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive at the table, we even asked the waitress again, who said she’d check & kept passing our table and never said a word, that was just plain rude! The food eventually arrived and was a little On the cold side, we were so hungry we didn’t want to say anything. Other than the wait & the coldness, the meat is so tender, The ribs fell off bone & the pulled pork was delish. The place has a great vibe, and great for take outs, but the staff have zero interest in being there and are very rude and lax. I’d get a take away, might be a better option Than sitting in!

My boyfriend(now fiancé) & I used to eat out a lot in the early days of our relationship. I suppose because we were teenagers desperate to get out of the house & have a little time alone together. I always curse my luck that somewhere like the Auzzie BBQ didn’t exist in those days! Granted we probably lived a sheltered life, but nevertheless this place is defo a must try. For years we have been ordering burgers in restaurants that would have a similar feel such as atmosphere/price range etc. But recently we have found that there are few that are comparable to the Aussie BBQ. The meat & marinades are to die for. Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been top quality except for the chicken skewers which I did find a little dry, but a drop of burger sauce(or any of the other sauces they have on their tables) fixed that right up, I always find it to be so reasonably priced, considering the size of the portions and the quality of the foods you get. My fiancé & I have since kissed goodbye to those overpriced american style diners we used to frequent(you know the ones I mean). Absolutely no reason to spend a fortune in one of those places when this place is so much better & half the price. I recommend you go & order whatever it is you want, there’s no one dish that’s nicer than the others. They’re all as delcious as they sound on the Menu. Go now, thank me later! ;)

Four Euro for a wrap with chicken tenders and BBQ sauce — I’ll take it! Beers are 3.50. And burgers are not much more. The menu is a one page print-out and pretty no-nonsense. Walk in and smell the grill and the BBQ sauce and you’re hooked. It even ‘feels’ like a BBQ pit with its open grill and dramatic colors! The menu is quite simple. Try a chicken skewer for only 2 Euro. And, be sure to order a small basket of fries — they’re so tasty! They even have veggie burgers. But, the pulled pork sounds very tempting. I hear they stay open quite late on nights where one is on the prowl for hearty eats after a night of drinking. BBQ will do the trick! There are two screens to watch the games as well! We will return! Twenty Euro for two(including beers). This ISGOODBBQ!
