Dont go there unless it was your last option! I cant believe I spent 300 € to fix my macbook and it came worse than ever!!! i took it there because i had issue with windows popping out and now i received it back with the same issue but Updated! and guess what so slow i cant open a page without waiting for at least a full minute. This is ridicules

Meh, ok it has the finish of an Apple Store but it’s not… Let’s all remember that plus it shows, popped in for an airport express, asked assistant who was nearby a display of them (they were under lock and key) he just replied, grab one at the till & pointing around to the till area… Ok, cheers for your help. Stood at till area and only 1 person serving who was going through 101 Q’s with person buying a Mac so accessories, insurance, etc… Jezz, can someone just serve me! Finally assistant from earlier, re appears and said here’s your airport, before I knew it he dropped it on the floor and just looked at me, before I knew it I’m down picking it up… How did this happen, he half heartedly passed it to me, let it drop and I’m left scrabbling on the floor!
Considering I knew exactly what I wanted, didn’t flaff around… It took me 15mins to get served and finally leave.

Avoid them if you want to save quids.

I’ve never wrote a Unilocal review before I experienced this store. If you’re having troubles with your Apple product, buy a plane ticket from RyanAir to the nearest official Apple Store location, fly there, deal with your problem, and that would be less of a burden than dealing with this store.
Let me preface this by saying there are a couple people there that were truly kind and helpful, and I appreciate their work. I came into this store two weeks ago with a stuck «A» key on my two month old MacBook Air, expecting a quick fix. The people there told me that they would need the laptop overnight to diagnose and fix the issue. I was a bit wary of them needing my laptop overnight, as I had figured a stuck key was easily fixed, but I went with it.
The next morning, I receive a call that my «A» key is not stuck, but three of my other keys aren’t depressing properly and they would order me a new topcase, which was surprising to me. I went into the store that day to assess the problem, my «A» key was still stuck, and the other keys depressed fine, but I have AppleCare so I let them buy the topcase as it would be of no cost to me. They said it would take two days for the part to come in and to install it. This was annoying to me, as I’m a student and my laptop is integral for day to day schoolwork, but again, I let it slide.
Two days pass and I don’t receive a phone call, so I call them to figure out what’s going on. They tell me that they need a new I/​O (input/​output) cable for my laptop as there is no power going to my keyboard. If you guys remember, this is a two month old MacBook Air with a presenting complaint of a stuck key, and now there’s no power to my keyboard… They said it would take a week to fix, which was the last straw for me. I was headed to Greece the following week and I needed my laptop for the vacation. So I called Apple HQ to figure out why they were having so much trouble. The people at Apple contacted Compu B, and suddenly, my laptop was going to be fixed within ten minutes. Rather fishy stuff, but I was grateful to Apple for putting a fire under their asses to get my laptop fixed.
I receive my laptop that day, and the key is fixed, and my laptop feels great! However, the trackpad was sunk in in the bottom left corner, which was not a problem I had before. I figured it would fix itself, and went on my vacation to Greece, emailing Compu B while I was there that the trackpad was a bit sunk. They said that the fix should take no time at all, but when I entered the store today, the manager basically told me that the trackpad was fine and that they can’t do anything for me. My trackpad is still not depressing correctly in the bottom left corner, and the guy basically embarrassed me in the middle of the store, not believing that my laptop had any issue.
The customer service, bar a couple of kind fellows, was horrendous. The service was terrible. I’m just so upset with how this store went about my issue that I literally had to write it all out on here so no one has to go through what I did. I will not be going to this store any longer, and I’ll wait to head back to the US this December so my problem is effectively fixed by an actual Apple Store, as opposed to dealing with back and forth bullshit for a week.
Go here if you have zero alternative options, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Some other solutions for fixing your Apple product I’d recommend over going to this place are lighting your computer on fire, hiring a homeless person to diagnose your problem, throwing your laptop at a wall, the list goes on.

I read several reviews from dissatisfied customers. They say there’s a high turnover and staff and lack of knowledge. I just ran in to buy a cable. They have quite a good selection of product. Same price as everywhere else in Ireland. No complaints with my little five-​minute jaunt into the store.
I would return to buy accessories.

Unless you really need an item you can just pick off the shelf don’t bother with this lot.
My company has a fairly large number of Macs and after waiting over a month for two minor repairs (calling several time a week to be lied to) I won’t deal these guys anymore.
I just bundle anything needing repair into my car and head for the real Apple store in Belfast who usually get everything fixed or replaced inside an hour or two.
Not much point buying anything new from these guys in CompuB either. The staff lack training and the store has very few hardware configurations available.
Again it’s better to either order from the online Apple store or head for Belfast.

Very shoddy experience. Charged € 79 for having a problem diagnosed with my IMac, a problem that originated in Compu B’s workshop the last time I had my machine repaired. Under no circumstances will I be recommending these shafters to anyone EVER!

Basically, this shop is mediocre. Talking about staff knowledge. In other words, if you are IT «person» and know few things about computers and their software and hardware, then you won’t find much help here. Only frustration, unless you’re super patient person, which I hope you are ;p
If you are simple person not interested in gadgets and computing, you’ll be pleasantly served as staff are nice, just their knowledge is mediocre or less than then, but you won’t notice that and will think that staff knows everything.
Staff rotation (I believe) is quite often, maybe that’s why you hardly find great staff with great knowledge base.

Went to buy smart cover. I says: «give me read plastic one», «sorry, we don’t have them…», but it appears to be dozen of them in the shelf. What a hell, boy?! Oh, I’m sorry, it probably was your first hour on the floor… Put a DON’T SPEAK TO ME label on your forehead. Forgot to say, please :)
Almost every time in that shop I get some stupid unprofessional experience.
Even when called to check, if they have smart covers for new iPad Air. They said they have (I asked for color red) three of them, but wait, there are two types — plastic and leather (€ 39 and € 79). So, again, unprofessional service.

I’ve been to Compu B in Grafton street a couple of times. Most often I was met with most pleasant response from the staff — very helpful people, willing to discuss joys and problems with all things Apple. But from time to time their prices of non-​Apple goods (speakers, iPad/​iPhone 3^rd party cables, etc.) are a bit higher (not by much!) compared to the official Apple online store (I always believed that all APR’s sell at the same prices as Apple original stores).

I was looking for a replacement headphones/​handsfree dealio for my iphone. I had looked in two airports which only offered me way more expensive versions. Popped into Compu B, found exactly what I was looking for and got served straight away. Simple as! Price was the same as online too!

Every time I’ve gone in there, I’ve left frustrated. They keep you waiting and the staff don’t seem to have full knowledge of products or how things work. The guy I spoke to the last time I was in about a replacement for one of my macbook accessories wasn’t even listening to my explanation, he was very curt and borderline rude. Very frustrating encounter and certainly not the first time it’s happened. I go past the shop nearly everyday, and I assure you I will not be stopping there or recommending it to any of my friends.
As an aside, I agree with Robert J, as I have equally found the guys at Evad much more helpful than the staff at Compub.

Absolutely great place for all your Apple needs. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice layout and gives you great opportunities to test items before you buy! Only negative is that all accessories are expensive!

They are kind of clueless here. I came in two months ago and spoke to a «knowledgable» fellow about iPhones. He said, «No we do not carry those at the moment but we will be soon. Probably in two months, if you come back.»
So fine, I came back two months later. Here I am, standing in the middle of the shop next to a 1 meter tall poster advertising «The NEW iPhone 4S». A girl walked up to me and said, «Are you all right?» I said, «Hi, do you sell the iPhone 4S?»
«NO. We don’t sell that. We’re never going to sell that,» she replied rather curtly.
Seriously, I’m standing next to a giant poster urging me to buy the iPhone and here they are saying they will never carry that.
I said, «I was in two months ago and a clerk told me you’d have them in stock in 2 months.»
She looked at me with a pedantic stare, as if I were a 4 year old who needed something simple explained. «We’re not a PHONE store. If you want a phone, you’ll have to go to a PHONE store. We don’t have the facilities to repair them so we’re never going to sell them.»
The response was a little more rude than I expected, especially since I was willing to hand over 500 euro to this shop. There are so many other places in town that sell Apple products. Try: D.I.D Electrical, Arnott’s or PC World to name a few.

Some of the staff members shouldn’t be working there. They have No level of customer service WHAT SO EVER ! Little or no product knowledge and a rotten attitude. I was spoken to by one of them as if I was born yesterday. And I build computers in my spare time. I bet the recruitment standard in that joke of an enterprise is «Employ your mates and forget about genuine mac enthusiasts «.
This company needs a kick up the ass for the caliber of staff they seem to employ.
I Handed in my 13 «Mac book Pro (UNDER WARRANTY) last week. With a defective keyboard. I was forced to argue with an incompetent sales assistant who looks around 15 years old with goofy looking black hair (You know who you are and you shouldn’t be working there). Typically after being fobbed off. Then I had to ask for the manager in order to have my faulty mac book even looked at. He took his time of course. Over 30 minutes moping around the shop floor.
They take it in and come back to me a week later demanding close to 200 euro for a repair. For a mac book which is only 6 months old. And under Warranty.
Had to demand my mac book back. And brought it to a decent «Authorized Service Provider «with a lot more experience and customer service than these clowns.
’ EVAD It Solutions ’ on the quays dealt with me as soon as I walked in the door. Friendly assistant. Explained the problem in one sentence. No questions asked and 3 days later they had fixed my problem. They even replaced the whole top case when only one key was defective.
Compu B shouldn’t hold the right to stick an Apple logo on their window. Having said that they shouldn’t hold the right to stick their joke of an enterprise on the end of the country’s most renowned shopping location with their standards. They just don’t cut it. Disgusting customer service compared to EVAD It solutions.
NEVER AGAIN will I step foot inside there again ! Every time I walked past that pitiful excuse of an enterprise I’m gona have a disgusted look on my face. Hopefully those clowns wont be around much longer as soon as a genuine Apple Store is established in «Baile Atha Cliath «. May I suggest the CHQ Building in the IFSC ! If Apple are reading this. ! Ideal location for a «Real Apple Store «

I would to point out that there was no liquid damage. From your inspection of my machine you might of found «Traces «of coffee stains under the keyboard as I can remember a dab of coffee spilling over my top-​case months ago. But you guys deemed it «Liquid Damage «Tell me how could this be classed as damage if the machine is still fully operational with no defects? You used this as an excuse to save yourselves time and money by not repairing my machine and risked your arm trying to make me pay for something I shouldn’t.
Furthermore EVAD IT Solutions didn’t notice any traces of «liquid Damage «and if they weren’t «Thorough ’ enough in their inspection I find it hard to believe how they could miss spotting a liquid damaged machine. They found nothing wrong with it. I would also like to quote from your response just to show you how indecent you guys are …

It seems like you were more concerned in my machine remaining un-​repaired and had no intentions of helping me, unless I handed if I can remember 245 euros for a repair for a machine that is 6 months old and UNDER WARRANTY. I find it hard to understand why you guys have the authority to act on behalf of apple as a service provider. Because you are doing nothing but tarnishing their image in customer service.
This will not prevent me from purchasing Apple products in the future. I just know it wont be coming out of your doors, or ever brought back there for repair ever again.

Ok I suppose, we don’t have an apple store yet and we probably won’t have one for a few years, but until then this fills the gap.
Its like an apple store, bright airy and very little stock on display, but it’s nothing compared to the apple stores in new York or hong kong, it’s a bit like the one in Belfast.
As for prices, the products are the same as in an apple store, but € 24 is a bit expensive for an iPod restore that only takes 2 minutes.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.

This is the Apple shop in Dublin and I really dig it. They have worked so well with the space and it is bright and airy even though the floor space is still quite limited.
I went there to get a case for my phone and the selection was fantastic. The member of staff that helped me was terrific and a great laugh.
His help and advice was wonderful — very happy customer here!

it’s weird this place isn’t in Unilocal yet — at least not this particular retail location. the others are computer repair shops from what i can tell…
i’ll write a longer review when i’m not on my way off to the airport but for now i’ll just say it’s like the apple store lite, the staff are very nice and friendly but the selection leaves a bit to be desired. but for lack of a proper apple store, it somewhat fills the gap.
