This place is beautiful. The food is delicious and the coffees are usually made to perfection. The staff are friendly and it’s great for a group lunch, with large tables at the front of the café. It’s a little pricey, but you can get a rewards card, making your 7th coffee free! Worth a visit if you’re on Thomas Street.

Ok but not great. There’s a selection of pastries and sandwiches — I went for the tomato mozzarella panini as one of the veggie options but it would be more accurately named tomato melted plastic. The cakes look good though and there’s a good choice of coffees and loose leaf tea.

Great big windows for people watching they come from all angles and guaranteed at least one character to pass you by. Loads of seating with a big couch area up front which will hold about 6 and bar that runs about 10 meters on the other side. Right down the back you’ll find benches, tables and chairs, with the benches being the more comfortable. Coffee has depth and the sweet savory selection of food will not let you down. I’ll just say one thing about the food, the toastys! One of the only places in Dublin that will present your dish by hand with actual melted cheese inside!!! This in itself would be a reason to try them out!

I was quite surprised by how much I liked this place. It’s quite unassuming from the outside. A bit dark even. However, when I went in, I was pleasantly surprised; a mix of comfy sofas, window seating and tables and chairs. I had a look at the sandwiches, and they looked amazing and fresh. And what a variety. However, I opted for one of the lunch specials; quiche with salad for € 8.35. Not a bad deal. A huge slice of chicken and brie quiche(with broccoli and cauliflower and onion) and a generous side salad, though with way too many slices of black olives. I am not a fan of those. At all. Still, great little place to meet up for lunch!

Need to change the menus here, in terms of offering and display. Went in for breakfast, they offered us sandwiches, which we decided to take. The female server wasn’t helpful and kind of grumpy. There was no large menu to read behind the counter, the offering was very limited. We were asked to pay first, I handed them my card, they said they only took cash. I said to cancel the order and left. Was a good reason to leave, I know there’s an ATM across the road, but in 2014 that’s a joke. Get a card machine, get more lights, put up a proper menu, make nicer food.

Lovely high ceilings make this corner café on Francis st and Thomas st a definite attraction. The area is absent of such a cosy, spacious café with good quality coffee hard to find. Similar in feel to the Coffee Society or maybe a minimalist Starbucks but the rustic feel mixed with wood and couches make this a great place for a morning coffee or mid day laptop workplace. I never eat much more than a pastry here but there are no other cafés in the area that offer such an amount of individual space and good quality coffee in combination. Drawbacks: the food is mostly packages sandwiches which I never touch regardless of where I am and the place can get a bit chilly from time to time. On street seating isn’t agreeable and it’s a bit pricey.

A straight up, good coffee shop. They pull a fine double espresso and they have a rather large seating area for you to relax in. Large windows, high ceilings and free wifi along with a breakfast special. 3.50 for a scone and a doppio. Sign me up.

Nice spacious premises and a fair selection of food, and usually somewhere to find a comfortable seat except at lunch hour. There is free WiFi’s but the connectivity performance is poor, so be warned. Staff are somewhat surly IMO. CRM is not a strong point. Far more welcoming places around town and better value too.

Inside this majestic building on the corner of Francis and Thomas street, is a fine café. Noto offers the typical coffeehouse-menu but also pre-packed sandwiches, couscous or pasta-salads to grab. If you’re not in a hurry, this is a place where you have to enjoy your coffee and panini while sitting in to really appreciate the place. I won’t say that you’ll get the best coffee and sambos in town, but the high ceiling and large windows with curved lines(great for people-watching) make Noto a comfy spot to relax for an afternoon. If you have to get work done, bring your laptop. The staff doesn’t mind if you sit around for a while, as long as you don’t bother them too much.

I really, really like this café. It’s big, spacious, airy and very trendy in its décor. The coffee is amazing(a large americano comes in a massive cup!), as is the service. All the people working here look like they actually enjoy the job and aren’t just making lattes etc ’cause they can’t find anything else to do that will pay the way. They are all super cool too. The food is very good. I worked nearby here for a while and was obsessed with this chickpea salad you could get pre-made in the chilled cabinet. I was practically eating it every day. Thinking about it now I want to go back for more!

Caffe Noto would not find itself out of place in New York. It is an ultra-cool, high ceilinged café on Thomas Street, with exposed brickwork walls, a painted concrete floor, bare mahogany and duck-egg blue painted furniture, and plenty of chrome and glass around the service counter. The clientele are an eclectic bunch, where foreign students sit alongside the roly-smoking, beret touting artists of the area. The glass display cabinet houses delectable brownies, individual crumbles, cookies and caramel slices. The sandwiches are what some would call gourmet — parma ham panini with rocket and thick slices of buffalo mozzerella, mmmm… There’s a small selection of salads to eat in or take-away, the best of which is the broccoli, feta and hazelnut, priced at a reasonable € 5.50.

The beautiful people have found a home and it’s behind the counter of Caffe Noto. The modelesque staff mightn’t be the quickest at getting your coffee — queues build up fast in the mornings and lunchtimes — but you just can’t stay mad at them, they’re too pretty. Noto’s pre-packed sandwiches and salads are fine if a little pricey and the coffee is quite good — any Aussies missing home can treat themselves to a Flat White.

It’s rare to find such a spacious coffee shop in the city, not many people seem to know about it either, which is always nice. It’s housed within an impressive historical building. Excellent menu and coffee choice. Plenty of seating available. Popular lunch spot. Usually it’s a good spot to relax until yesterday when I attracted the noise parade. Don’t you hate it when people think that everyone should hear how exciting their lives are? To the left of me was some obnoxious business man, ‘I wipe my ass with € 100, I am that rich and important.‘ To some wannabe starlet chatting to some RTE producers, ‘I’m like, you know like really best friends with Ryan Tuburity, I like slept with him too. So do I get to audition?‘ It was really awful and the rest of the fellow suffering diners looked at each other with pained eyes, we bonded. I am sure that incident was a freak occurrence, and it should not deter you from trying their excellent coffee.
