Very nice food. Services not the best but the food is very nice. Nice for a quick sandwich to keep you going

Definitely it is a good place to go. People there are very friendly and efficient, at least that was my impression. We asked for Cajun Chicken Pita and Pulled Pork Sandwich. They served them with a good portion of fries. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed the relax atmosphere and the food. There were diverse groups, couples, father and son, mother and daughter, people on their own. The price is reasonable and it is perfect if you are enjoying the centre of Dublin. Sometimes it can be packed, it has happened before to me, but that time it was room for us.

Its odd to rate this place so poorly as the food isn’t actually bad — even if it is slightly overpriced. Its the service — its awful! This restaurant almost never refuse a request for a table even without a reservation, which again be convenient, but its a case of get them and get them out. To add insult to injury they have the most incompetent two waiters on duty on a busy Saturday night in DUB. They were rude and unpleasent when we questioned them about a delay with our food — 2 of us were served and the other 2 were left wating for a further 10 mintues. I suppose they must have said something to a manager who sort of wandered by to look at us and seemingly grunt. Their overall attitude from start to finish was just bordering on offensive and I confess that they ruined an otherwise wonderful evening in DUB for us and our visiting guests.

It pains me to write a bad review but where it warrants it… Unfortunately, it is what it is! Let’s kick it off, the café was very quiet, with just one table being serviced when we arrived(probably should have taken that as a hint) anyhow… We ordered from their brunch menu and waited a long 30 minutes for the food to arrive and at that, no friendly apolog for the delay. Shame! What did arrive then was just not up to scratch… This shouted out to me that this is just one of those cafes thats decided to ‘get by’ on ripping off tourists and not focus on what they should stand for and satisfy the locals which in turn gets ye repeated business and awesome word of mouth referrals. The Full Monty(€ 12 — pot of tea was extra), was deep fried sausages(so again question why 30 minutes was needed to bring the food out) and bacon was missed from the line up on that plate… My order of eggs benedict with the menu promising poached eggs, came as two fried eggs and sliced ham, I mean Denny’s(or some other branded) package chilly sliced ham, not exactly what I expected for a € 12 eggs benedict! As a few more customers came in, the staff still didn’t come to life, they dragged there feet about the floor and not an ounce of chirpiness or a dash of a smile from either of the 2 guys working. Instead some demands of ‘what do you want’ Been a super long time since I left an eatery without leaving a tip… I paid my bill to the cent and left. My pics show the quality of my eggs benedict!

I was less than impressed to say the least! My wife and I stopped in here on Sunday 24-Aug-14 for a spot of breakfast. We had a quick look at the menu outside, I spotted the Full Monty fry on the menu, bacon, eggs, pudding, beans, mushrooms and potato cake! I thought to myself, hell yeah, I’ll have a bit of that. So we went in and the waiter said to grab a seat anywhere as it was just us and one other couple. We had a quick look at the menu and ordered. Full Monty(€ 12) with tea(€ 2.20) and a my wife had the Eggs benedict(€ 12). The tea and table water was brought over quickly enough. However we were waiting a full 25 to 30 mins for our food to come out! At this stage I was getting a bit impatient as there were only 3 couples in the restaurant now at this stage. When the food eventually came to our table I was expecting something special… NOPE! Deep fried sausages, really? This is a pet hate of mine, thats just lazy cooking and not when you would expect for € 12! Beans, pudding mushrooms and eggs were OK. I also noticed that there was not bacon on my plate. I called the water over and asked him if the chef had forgotten the bacon, he looked about as impressed as I was and quickly went off and got them for me apologising on his return. On the other side of the table was my wife with the Eggs benedict. I didn’t try them but here is what I saw, the smallest palest watery hollandaise sauce I’ve ever seen on top of two very poorly poached eggs, they were on top of 3 slices of folded ham from a packet. Maybe this is a European/Mediterranean way of serving eggs benedict but I think most Irish people are accustomed to having eggs benedict with nice crispy bacon and not Denny style packet ham. So, whilst we were both full from the food we were not happy about paying € 26.20 — just wasn’t value for money both in terms of the food and service. Its entirely possible that the Boulevard do a great evening food service but based on our breakfast experience we won’t be back to try it.

There was a time when you just couldn’t go wrong with this place — consistently good bistro style food served efficiently by friendly team. Sadly, it’s no more. The past three times I’ve been in, I’ve felt let down. I’d wager a change of ownership a while back though I’m not sure — but whatever has happened at the Boulevard, it feels to me like it’s lost its spirit and mislaid its soul a little in more recent times. The food, though, remains good it must be said. I had a delicious pasta main course, really high quality. But the service and atmosphere have gone flat as uncarbonated water. The dark night outside was compounded by the very low lighting that seemed to beg us not to linger. No one came near us after our mains were removed — no offer of dessert or coffee. Finally, when it was clear they were putting away the cakes, a tray was presented. Still no coffee or tea offer. And it started feeling cold right about then. It was time to head out into the night. And watch the lights go out at the Boulevard.

It’s pricey enough as 3 courses without wine could come to € 40 p.p. but the food is excellent. The waiting staff are very polite and courteous — last time we were there we stayed for a good hour after finishing and they didn’t rush us at all even though the place was busy. For a cheaper option, the early bird menu is about € 20 and has a decent choice. Good atmosphere and location. Would definitely go back.

Went for diner there last night as part of a group of 10. We had one of the most interesting waiters I’ve ever come across: funny and upbeat, yet not overbearing. On to the food! While I found the menu a tad expensive, I still enjoyed the meal. It was 35 bleeps for a started, main course and dessert. The quality was 25 to 30 € but the choice of dishes was quite unappealing and slightly dated. It seems they change it so I guess I was there on an unexciting night! I had the chicken liver pâté with chutney, the pâté was good but it didn’t go well with the overly fruity chutney and they didn’t give enough bread to finish the pâté. For the main I went for the risotto: tasted just fine, but hear again: not exciting. For dessert I had piece of lemon tart which was delightful, just the way I like it and don’t often get it! Wine was overpriced like most places. Overall I thought there was a big discrepancy between what the place looks like and what it actually serves and this is why I only give it 3 stars despite having a very enjoyable evening in their company.

I would go here again… I went for a team night out of 18 people or so and even though we were very indecisive the staff had a lot of patience with us and all of them were in a great mood and entertaining. The atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night out. It was fun and light with the waiters clapping whenever there was an even going on be it a birthday party or a hen party. The music was a bit too loud though. It was a cosy atmosphere with just the right amount of lighting and the décor made you feel right at home. The food was the best part. It had a lot of flavor. I had a kind of stew and the meat was very tender and there was not too much potato. I like it when there are more veggies than starch and this was the case. The dessert I had was a triple chocolate cake — not only was it an enormous piece that easily could be shared between two or three people but it was rich on flavor, moist and spongy as a chocolate cake should be. The deal was 2 dishes and coffee for 27 Euros which is not too bad, not super cheap but for the amount you get and for the flavor I did not mind this deal.

This was my favorite restaurant in Dublin for a variety of reasons. Ambiance: Casual, romantic, boisterous. The café is what you want it to me. The lighting is dim and the volume in the dining room is moderate, which makes it easy to have a large boisterous group or a quiet date for two. Service: Friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I was not rushed once during our meal and was allowed to stay as long as I wanted to finish my drink Food: I can’t quite put my finger on the style of food, but it appears to be french/italian influenced Irish food. No matter what, the ingredients were fresh and the portions size were abundant. I sampled the sea bass, lamb shank, bruschetta, soups, and the prawns. Value: There is a fabulous two course early bird special between 5−7PM. The wine prices allow for a value and a splurge. Simply put, I will return.

So I win a voucher for this place at work and being the nice sod I am I take two workmates along on 16th for a special treat. I have to say the food was delish, the lamb shank we all had was perfectly cooked and the mint jus was just right not overpowering as I’ve had in other places. Staff were attentive, pleasant and to be honest patient with us as we tried in our drunken stupour to sort out the bill. Will we be back yup. If only to apologise for being so bloody wasted on the very drinkable Chilean Sauvignon blanc. I blame the voucher!

We went for lunch here on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. The service was attentive, the food was nice and the bill wasn’t ok — not expensive, but not a bargain either. I had the vegetarian focaccia — it was super tasty(though a little oily). My other half had a chicken pita which was devoured. The bill, for 2 lunch mains, 3 coffees and a glass is wine came to 30 euro before tip. It seems like a solid place. I think we’ll be returning.

This is a nice, solid 4-star establishment. It was really quiet at first, but crowds quickly poured in and made the whole place more active. The décor was clean and modern, and the service was good and efficient. I loved the chicken over caesar salad. The chicken was cooked just right, and the salad had a nice creamy sauce that made it delicious. The organic salmon was also quite good, and the side of potatoes was delectable and satisfying.

The food and ambiance are fantastic! The Starters: Goat Cheese Tartlette or the Tiger Prawns are perfect. The Entrees: Rack of Lamb, Sea Bass, and the Roast Barbary Duck are excellent choices. The Dessert: The Chocolate Gateux is the best(photo attached)! The only reason I did not give 5 stars: Dublin’s nightlife stretches into the wee hours, and this restaurant closes at 11:00 p.m. Plus, the food service can be a little slow, but really, the Boulevard Café is a great choice and you will enjoy the experience.
