This drug store carries quite a bit of everything. I only shop in here when I can’t find what I’m looking for anywhere else. I find them to be extremely expensive. And the staff is just okay. What can I expect from a large chain?

This Boots seems to be usually on the quiet side, which makes it a significantly better shopping experience than going to the one on Grafton street which is so crowded and with such narrow aisles that it’s impossible not to get trodden on. This Boots has a wide range of make up and cosmetics, yet probably not so much baby stuff or electronics as other places if that’s what you need. The staff at the pharmacy are lovely– and unbelievably patient with the local nutjobs and stupid people. Took a point off because the(bored?) security guard tends to follow you(or is it just me???) around the store like you’re about to start filling your pockets with cheap mascaras and self-tanning mitts. When you do go and pay(after teasing the security guard by ‘nearly’ walking out), one of the members of staff comments on the stuff you’re buying which is also a bit annoying. Yet apart from those, completely fine shopping experience.

I flippin’ love Boots, they’re good value(their 3 for 2 offers are great) and the staff at this branch are friendly and chatty. Shelves are well stocked too, never too crowded either.

It’s handy for certain things I know they will have and I know I wont have to hunt around for in a string of shops. Staff were friendly. Boots are still overpriced though.

This Boots is slightly shabby in my opinion. It’s no different to any other Boots but it seems like it needs a lick of paint or something. Having said that, on the plus side it was nice and empty when I went in recently. Boots in town — especially the ones on Grafton Street and Henry Street — are always so busy that I want to run out the minute I go in. So this one was nice and people-free, which was good for me but maybe not for them.

You can’t beat the bargains at Boots. They offer 3 for 2 prices on many items, and their prices are already much cheaper even than the supermarkets. This is because Boots is a multi-national corporation that can afford to sell its products much cheaper than the poor old independent chemists who have been forced to close down because of competition from the likes of Boots. I am a total hypocrite preaching about this as I still shop in Boots for shampoos and make-up, though I do go elsewhere to get prescriptions filled.

If you are tired of elbowing other customers away from the Rimmel testers in the Grafton Street branch, then head to Boots in Rathmines. High ceilings, wide aisles and a good layout make browsing a pleasant experience and you can find all the usual special offers and Boots gear that you get in the larger stores. You might want to check it out soon though. Although it was nice not to have to fight my way through the aisles, the lack of customers probably isn’t doing the tills any favours.
