For a pub serving«traditional Irish food» in a coastal town, I’d expected the seafood platter to consist of more than a few slices of store-bought smoked salmon, a paltry six mussels, and some stale brown bread, especially for 18.50. My companion had the shepherds pie, which had been allowed to go cold and then been microwaved before being brought to our table. Nice place, with a good selection of beers and whiskeys, but the quality of the food leaves a LOT to be desired. Would not visit again.

Had a soup and toasted sandwich with one small bt of water was charged a total of € 13.00 for same outrageous price. Will not be calling there in a hurry…

Reidy’s is unique. I spent years in here as a postgrad student with friends, and even longer with the drama set from the nearby Granary theatre. The two old dears that run the place are characters — they go at their own pace, but they’re very friendly with the zany student folks they serve. The walls are adorned with posters and memorabilia and the bar itself is architecturally very interesting. Go here — it’s very much worth it.
