This place is ligit! I went there a few times. It has a cozy feel to it when you walk in. The bar to the left and a few standing tables to the right. To the back left there are sit down table that are somewhat private. Upstairs there are other seating areas but I think are only used when it gets really busy. The prices weren’t to high either. During the day it relatively quite and you could have a nice chat with the bar mate if you’d like. Or chat it up with the locals who come to get their morning fix of Guinness. At night not to loud or packed. Could definitely be a place to meet new people. Good place to pre-drink before moving on to other places.

A «proper» pub. Proper meaning that you’ll excuse the slightly dingy surroundings because the atmosphere is so good. It’s in a good location too, so if you’re looking to sink a few inexpensive pints before a night out, you could do a lot worse than Costigans. There’s nothing to recommend Costigans over a couple of other places in the town. It’s in that strange twilight zone of pubs that everyone drinks in, but nobody is really a regular.

Good fun bar on Washington street, big enough spaced but still gets rammed on busy nights. Heated smoking area as well if needed.

A decent family run bar in the centre of the city, which somehow feels a little outside the city — it’s not, but the more relaxed pace makes it a little less hectic than a bar slap bang in the city centre. Good beers here, and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Good place for a date, especially if you don’t want to have to dress to impress. It’s casual all the way.
