Almost like eating at your Grandmother’s house, the Den Bar has a great set of bartenders — friendly and welcoming. The chef serves up home cooked meals, the likes of which make you feel like family.
Attention the the customers is key — they never leave you hanging, yet are not incessantly in your face. Even on rugby nights, I feel like this is a safe, fun environment to spend your evening.

A great little pub that doesn’t get the credit and hype it sometimes deserves! they are great for events, such as rugby days. Often the front drive is transformed into a large drinking area with extra bars outside and green lights glowing, even some screens! Live music in there too. I’ll definitely be back !

The Den Bar in the Lansdowne Hotel is the quieter of the rugby match day bars on the Baggot Street axis. It does have a few non-​match day locals and, being first and foremost an amenity of the hotel, there will always be a few residents here too.
The atmosphere ranges from very quiet, but still enjoyable, to manic when the rugby circus rolls into town. On match days they frequently put up a large chipper van and seating into the carpark area in front of the hotel. This gives a boost to the circus feel of match days and makes the Den Bar one of the best places to spend the day after the match.
I’ve always liked this place, as it was my local briefly, and I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste and that Searson’s is definitely more traditional, but I think this it’s a great place to spend an afternoon.
