Quality Christmas tree transplants, We have been given the privilege of being able to secure a contract with Ireland’s registered main producer of Christmas tree transplants, to supply us with only quality transplants at very competitive prices which we purchase on our fellow growers behalf which in turn will save you money and time in trying to source and purchase quality plants

Limerick Christmas Tree Centre have seen an increase in the demand of plug cell grown plants used for Christmas tree production. The Cell Grown plants flexibility in planting time has enabled Christmas tree growers to plant when it suits them. Our quality of stock grown is second to none with constant repeat orders somewhat dictating the species we supply and the volumes in which we have contract grown. The fact that certain species used for the production of Christmas Trees often run low is more evidence to suggest that the Cell Grown plant is by some growers the preferred method of production. The superb quality we have been able to offer in recent years, have, we are sure also contributed to the current shortfall on the open market.

History

Established in 2009.

We have over 25 years experience in the horticultural business. After college and working in plant nurseries, ground maintenance, we decided it was time to venture out for ourselves hence the Christmas tree farm.

We started trials of Christmas trees in 2009 to find the best one suited for our soils, the best way to plant and so on.

To date we have approximately 1500 field growing trees currently in production. We aim to plant between 500 — 1000 transplants each autumn, with a long term plan to plant 5000+ a year.

We also intend to plant approximately 1000+ into pots for the pot grown trees, plus seedlings into root trainers for growing on for reselling or planting out in the fields.
