The food was okay but our chicken was still raw and they take very long to refill your tea which seems like a consistent complaint on open rice which is the Unilocal of Asia.

Zushi ANA is a safe bet for some standard Japanese fare. I was introduced to the ANA group a few years ago and this outlet has all of my favorites in a much larger and modern setting. I love the graffiti art and the presentation of most dishes are awesome. My Must EAT here: *Fatty Tuna on Crispy Rice. I can seriously eat this 24⁄7. It’s delicious. Other items that are quite tasty are the scallop tempura wrapped in Shiso leaf, and for those that are a huge egg yolk fan the egg yolk tempura is pretty unique. Yakitori section is good, but nothing to rave about, but passable. Sushi and sashimi is always very fresh. I also recommend their lunch specials as it’s a pretty substantial portion. Only complaint the last time I went was the Chawanmushi being lukewarm/cold. Wasn’t happy about that but other than that, a safe bet for Japanese fare.

Easily one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in HK. This place serves your typical sashimi and sakes, and to be honest, I am no expert in that area. I have more western preferences usually, which is precisely why I like this place, the cooked food is modern and robust, the flavours are usually bold while ingredients are fresh. To make it better, the location is easily accessible in Times Square and prices are quite reasonable. For the purists, they may not agree with me. I can’t call the place a top notch sashimi place nor is it creative Japanese(leave that to my other favorite restaurant — Ronin). And its definitely not those after work wind down 居酒屋. I would like to think of it as a mixture of all three elements. It doesn’t shine brightly in all three aspects, but it does do a good job in all three. I’ve been here thrice and haven’t been disappointed so far. So do pay a visit before your movies or after your shopping, I’m sure you won’t be complaining.
