A friend of mine recommended this place when I told her we are going to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year. We also happened to stay at Intercontinental HK so this was nice because we just walked over. I made reservation online 3 weeks prior to arrival and someone immediately contacted me to go over the menu and recommended a few things like the Beijing Duck but since there are only two of us we decided not to try because its too much for two people. Maybe we will try next time if we come with more people. We decided to try their lunch menu. Ordered a few dim sum items and chose their special lunch menu. Food is excellent and their service is top notch. They also gave us a very cute chocolate cake for our anniversary and some cute tea packages as a gift. We will come back here next time to try their dinner. I highly recommend this Michelin star restaurant if you want to celebrate or treat yourself to a nice meal. I was very pleased

Best Beijing Duck Full Stop. I used to live in Beijing and tried the ‘famous’ places, tried the ‘local places’– this is better than anything. This is how duck should taste. Good wine list. Nice departing gift.

We came here for lunch. Located in the intercontinental, formerly the Regent. The restaurant has undergone extensive refurbishment while the hotel will be in the coming 2 years. This is badly needed for an establishment which claims to be one of the top hotels in Hong Kong. The décor of the one Michelin star restaurant is elegant as well as the table setting. The wine list is very extensive covering all parts of the world. They even have a special list with rare vintages of the premier wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux. Unfortunately the wines are extremely expensive, starting from 4 times up to 10 times what you normally would pay at wine merchants. The service of the staff doesn’t reflect the class of the restaurant unfortunately. In one word it’s mediocre. It’s slow, not attentive and the attitude needs a lot of improvement. The food on the other hand is excellent although pricey. For lunch they offer a good variety of dim sum including all the favorites. Presentation is very good. Apart from this they also have a lot of other specialties. My favorites were the braised wagyu beef cheek and the baked Portuguese seafood rice. And don’t miss out on the BBQ pork. It would have been a five star experience if the service was better.

Amazing attention detail. Some of the creations i have never tasted before like the birds nest with its unique delicate flavor. I would suggest the tasting menu to get the full experience, however, the locals where ordering a la carte. Hope to meet again!

Generally rated as the finest Cantonese cuisine in the world, and I would agree. Beautiful décor and views. The service is so attentive that, if the staff notices that you are left handed, like me, they move the chopsticks to the left of the plate.

Okay. It is that time of the week. Fine-dining here we go again. Today I went to Yan Toh Heen inside InterContinental Hotel and that place I am telling you has the most refined Cantonese cuisine with excellent service. Yan Toh Heen was once called Lai Jing Heen before, which served the most elite level of Cantonese Dining. And over the years, this place has only got better and has won several Michelin stars and rightly so. The staff are very informative and have great knowledge of every dish. Worry not. They are not those that come off as trying to up sell you their dishes. The service is sophisticated and never too pushy, approachable and nice. If you allow me, I would recommend you the Superior Dumplings. And honestly those are one of my best dim sum experiences ever. But actually, nothing goes wrong in this place. It is THATGOOD. If anything, Yan Toh Heen definitely sets a very high benchmark for refined Chinese food. Since mid-Autumn Festival is fast approaching, it is that time of the year where we all struggle to choose the perfect mooncakes for this festival season. If you come to Yan Toh Heen now, there is a very great chance you may get a free sampling. And I did. There were three types of flavor — egg-yolk white lotus seed paste Mooncake, Egg Custard Mooncake(My favourite) and also Chinese ham(Salami) Mooncake. They are certainly not cheap and I was so excited to be able to sample all those free of charge!
