Virgin Atlantic Hong Kong Clubhouse

By far the best airline lounge experience for me.
I was traveling EVA air from Hong Kong to Taipei and received an access to this Virgin Air lounge.
I was not expecting much but just to have some time to access wifi.
The download speed was lightning fast in comparison to the hotel I was staying.
And I was not expecting full service attendant that provided me with a beverage and even a breakfast from variety of choice offered on a menu.
Felt as if I’m traveling first class. Definitely made my travel easier.

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at HKG airport is undeniably incredible. And I feel like one of the lucky ones for getting access in the first place — how did I end up in this swanky lounge again?
Oh right. My gold status with the Star Alliance (earned via United) grants me complimentary lounge access on any international flight. However, United doesn’t fly the Hong Kong to Taipei route, so I booked a flight on EVA (also part of the Star Alliance). Imagine the giddiness that ensued when upon check-​in at HKG, I received my free pass to hang in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. This is pretty much as good as it gets in the lounge world, you guys!
As soon as you walk into the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, you’re escorted to the seating area and immediately asked what you’d like to drink. They don’t have a drink menu, but the kind staffer assured me that they stock everything from a variety of fresh fruit juices to wine to everyone’s favorite lounge beverage, champagne.
But there’s more. You’re then handed a menu which allows you to order from a multitude of Asian and Western dishes. Feel like some noodle soup or grilled potstickers? No problem. What about a BLT sandwich on thick-​sliced bread? You got it. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Clubhouse is serving made-​to-​order savory and sweet selections to your heart’s content, completely gratis.
The wi-​fi is just as robust as the food and beverage selection. And the on-​it staffers will let you know once your flight is ready to board — not by broadcasting it over a loud speaker, but rather, they’ll personally come over to let you know. Everything is calm, serene, and the opposite of the hectic bustle you’d be dealing with gate-​side.
I think I might be booking more flights on EVA in the future!

The is a tranquil oasis is a mad world of travel. The food is always good and the wifi is free what more can you want.

I can’t say enough good things about this lounge, great service, tasty food from a menu, full premium bar. I may not bother to get on the plane.

I’ve never flown on Virgin, being only fortunate enough to partake of its lounge in Hong Kong due to my status on another airlines, but the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse makes my barren uterus want to have Richard Branson’s baby — tenfold.
There are lounges and there are LOUNGES like the Clubhouse — hip, swank places meant for people who don’t have pre-​existing skin conditions, like me. The décor is minimalist swank chic and the service rivals that of a Michelin rated restaurant.
Unlike other Asian airport lounges which are a feed stop with a serve-​yourself buffet line, games room, CNN blasting on the oversized TV, and Asian aunties cleaning after you asking, «YOU FINISH NOW?!» as you’re licking the noodle bowl, or snorting the Courvoisier, the Clubhouse has a limited rotating menu of finely-​made meals and an open bar of your basic favorites offered up by quiet and attentive servers who DON’T JUDGE when you ask for your fifth bowl of wonton noodle soup. The last time I was here, some curries were on the menu and this time, a pea and TRUFFLE tagliatelle… yeah I know. Truffle. Pfffft.
Because this is Virgin Atlantic, you get the hot GQ European men in tight red pants, awesome stubble, and overpowering cologne that will let you miscarry Branson’s baby in one fell swoop. For me, the Clubhouse is the James Bond life I would’ve loved to have at a Costco warehouse price. It’s what an airport lounge in a world class city should be.
