Club Bauhinia

This newly opened lounge is for Hong Kong Airlines Premium passengers and Gold member of the Fortune Wings club and high flyers of a few other airlines, check my photo 2 for those airlines. My first impression was its pretty decent and I thoroughly enjoying seating near the window facing the tarmac and in front of me was the Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777−300ER, B-​KQR! I won’t forget this moment easily as the flight crew at the cockpit gave me a thumb up and wave! Wow! Anyway back the topic.
The staff aren’t the most friendliest, maybe it’s because it’s 6 in the morning and they aren’t too happy with the sight of passengers at this early hour, I don’t know but they could smile more and make me and a few others more welcome!
The choice of food was limited but at least theyhad my favourite ‘dim sum’ food — the ‘Char Siew Bao’ (Barbecue Pork Bun) and a few others ‘dim sum’ like ‘Siew Mai’ and Carrot Cake. A few other interesting choices are fried noodles and prawn roll. If you don’t fancy these at this hour, there is cereal and bread for you to be contended with. Unfortunately no continental breakfast.
There is a good selection of drinks ranging from non alcoholic to alcoholic with the essential drink in the lounge — coffee! The coffee machine also serves Expresso and cappuccino is also available and tea too.
Free Wifi is available and the connection is strong. So it’s a great place to do your work with the power points available at selected places of the lounge and of course if you need to rest, there is a sleep area and lastly, magazines and newspapers are available.
Overall, I like this lounge. Located near gate 23, there is a stairs leading you to it.
