Two Girls

It is perhaps a fair statement to say that I have an old soul.
I am naturally attracted to old school things; architecture, food, gadgets, and even brands. KSH «Two Girls» is a local cosmetic brand founded in the late 19^th century. For the hundred or so years, the signature poster of 2 girls has not changed at all and the brand has become a synonym itself for their one of a kind florida water.
Quite a funny name I have to say, but the chinese translation of Florida water is actually «dew on flowers»; I can only say that in the late 19^th to early 20^th century people were far less picky on the translation, or may be they were captivated by the exoticism of a far away state in the USA? Anyways, florida water acts pretty much like a perfume that serves multiple purposes including mosquito repellent and itch relief of the skin in case of bug bites. The colorless liquid has a scent combination of cloves and lavender, i guess this is the smell most often referred as the «smell of grandma». With all due respect, the scent of florida water is so popular that there is a whole line of product sharing similar tone including baby powder, ointment and lotion.
Perfect as it is if you are looking for presents during mother’s day or your mother’s birthday, this is also a good place for visitors to buy souvenirs. For the conveniences of the shoppers, the store has come up with combo sets of several products bound together in gift boxes other than the usual «a la carte» items.
Nostalgia is how one reminisce the past; its often interesting to know how people in the past live, what they eat and what they use. Knowing that the content in the bottle has kept more or less the same for the past 100 years, it feels like theres is more than scented water there, but an elixir of history.
