I have always wanted to jump on the Chinese Medicine bandwagon but never had the dedication nor patience for it. As a result I’ve come across quite a few places and have always found their business structure to be quite interesting. This place is a non-profit clinic and run just like a hospital outpatient. You would make an appointment, arrive and sit in the public wait area to watch some TV. The tv screens also have your booking number that would direct you to a doctor’s office. Once in the doctor’s office he would examine you, and enter the diagnosis and prescription in a computer which gets sent directly to the pharmacy. The doctor would also ask if you prefer boiled medicine or powder which you can mix with hot water at home. You would then return to the wait area to wait for the medicine and the typed out prescription so you can replicate it at your preferred pharmacist. This is definitely a more efficient method than many of the Chinese doctors I used to go. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try Chinese meds for the first time. This concept of this clinic is actually very interesting, and the fees are not prohibitively expensive, however, the location is just way too far for me.
