Jinsang tea & other traditional herbal medicine/vitaminish stuff that I don’t really know much about. But at $ 8, I feel better/healthier(perhaps placebo) every time. Try it if you’re neighborhood. You’ll feel better.

I LOVE this place! I came down with a cold and a bad cough while in Hong Kong this week, and a local angel took me here. She bought me a cup of Stop Coughing Tea($ 15HKD).The man in the shop said I needed to come back and drink it 2xs a day, my coughing was incessant at that point. And to my surprise, my cough began to abate while I was still drinking the first cup. I went back the next morning for cup#2. I hardly needed cup #3 by that evening. I could hardly believe it! By the third morning, I went back and told the same man that I was no longer coughing. He was pleased but not surprised, and said that I should have a cup of the five bitter herbs tea($ 8HKD) instead. I don’t know which is more bitter, but after the coughing cure miracle, I will gladly drink anything from this shop. I not only got the bitter herbs tea, but I then asked for a concoction of Stop Hair Loss Tea, which looks pretty scary(see photo of herbalist measuring herbs) but will surely ensure a lush head of dark hair for the rest of my life. Thank you, Good Spring Company!!!

This is a old Chinese traditional medicine shop, but also offer herbal tea to passers by. There are no seats. One just order a herbal tea, drink and move on. The herbal tea is very bitter if one is not used to it. However, once the«wall» is broken, there is a sweet aftertaste that lingers in the month. For those who just cannot take the strong flavour, there are also sweet variety.

Ancient Chinese secret? Not! We stumbled across this Chinese herbal store after having lunch not too far away. Of course I had to try their bitter 24 varieties herbal tea(廿四味) that is good for those who eat too much rich and fried foods. And yes, it was very bitter. You can buy many different herbal drinks here which they have boiled for many hours. Their drinks which are supposed to be good for all sorts of ailments are very concentrated. They must be doing something right as there were a steady stream of people buying their drinks. For $ 8 a cup, you can’t go wrong. Just tell them what symptoms you have and they will point you to the right drink for your health.
