While I’m somewhat of a local in Hong Kong, it’s great to drop by Tsui Wah and get something quintessentially Hong Kongese every now and then. As always, Tsui Wah features a trendy styling, through bright colours in their restaurants and very well garnished drinks and dishes, but it stays true to its Hong Kong identity every step of the way. Sure, this place is much pricier than the average 茶餐廳, but it’s a restaurant that you can definitely put your trust in. It’s very tourist friendly, considering how their menus are in both Chinese and English, waiters are much more patient and willing to communicate with you in a language other than Cantonese. They also pretty much cover all the key dishes you need to try in Hong Kong, so if you’re short on time, you can always just randomly pick an item off the menu and you’re pretty much good to go. Their Hong Kong style milk tea is quite nice, but feel free to try other drinks, I have a feeling they’d be pretty good. If you’re looking for Hainanese chicken rice, this venue does it well, the chicken is tender, smooth and juicy, and the rice is actually prepared with chicken fat for flavour. While I don’t eat at Tsui Wah often, I do plan on coming again.
