I would give the China Bar a 3.5 for the location/décor/seating. I would give it a 2 for server knowledge and friendliness. I picked this spot for us to meet a colleague and his wife for a pre-drink before dinner at a restaurant close by. The location was easy to find. The set up of seating and the more quite ambiance this place feels like from 6−8pm I am sure is very different than the late night party crowd in there from 10PM on. Reds, blacks, mirror, button tucking of fabrics here and there, cool music, high table couches, chairs and tables throughout. The flow and décor works. For an place for a drink that does not feel like a nightclub at 7PM, yet in the mix of that hip trendy area in Central, it was the perfect place for us to meet. I liked the room itself alot… probably because it was empty, not full of clubbers yet and opened up to the street. Like can be the case with shift workers in the club/bar business anywhere in the world, they are not really peppy and on it as much at 7PM as they are at 2AM when the place is probably hopping and packed(they just got out of bed and are getting their day start started… shift work is a tough gig). As such, not a ton of enthusiasm for our business and some confusion on what a martini is… my martini ended up being a generous pour of Grey Goose in a highball glass… no garnish, no ice. A simple martini is kind of my bar of judging an actual bar, so this was a big miss for me. Maybe something was lost in transition from my English speaking lips to our asian waitress. It happens. Not sure I would go back, but it fit what I was looking for as stated above.

This bar was not a highlight for me in LKF, but it was interesting. It has a huge dancefloor for all the drunk people to have fun, but I don’t think I was feeling the music. Also, it wasn’t easy to get a drink at the bar since it was so crowded. I would probably skip this place next time I went.
