I stopped into Black Bird with a girlfriend for a drink on our little bar crawl of sorts around Central. Not large by any means and a great little outdoor patio that probably equals the amount of seats inside, I thought this was a great little bar. Because it is not large, add a DJ playing music and the space becomes that much smaller. I like the open air and I like the space. Drinks were solid and seemed to be a good spot to bring a little group of friends or to hide out mid day and enjoy a glass of wine and a book.

Cocktails were made by an alchemist bartender. The real plus was the outdoor deck. This was a really nice break from the shoulder-to-shoulder bar scene on the streets. Staff was friendly and chill.

Love the cocktails here, and the bar manager(or whomever selects the bottles placed behind the bar) clearly knows his/her shit. They have only the best brands of whiskeys, gins, rums, and other libations. .. many of which are small-batch, unknown/not well-known, and — most importantly — fucking DELICIOUS. The only ding I have is that their snack/food menu leaves a lot to be desired. .. but hey, you come here for the cocktails, not to eat, amirite? Also, I am basically in love with the outdoor terrace area.

This chic bar is fit for all occasions, date, birthday, farewell and few people catch-up. The contemporary interior laid the dark color tone, facilitated with ‘vintage’ furniture. Unlike squeezed bars on Hollywood Road, Black Bird put big sofa pieces here and there, own terrace for smoking and chilling. No need to squeeze at all. It carries more deco features of NYC or London gastropub. The mixodology is also of quality standards. I love their Old Fashion, rather pricy though. I am fond of whisky ice cube and they do it proper here. Their Mojito is above average Central bar level as well. The rum is more generously poured and just right amount of lime and mint. But do watch out your bill. ;) The lads stay with beer all the time. This up-floor bar occupies the entire terrace facing Pottinger Street. When the weather allows, it is so ideal to hang in there with maximum 6 friends on a ‘long’ table. Their vintage sofa can be booked for group gathering. Quite a few of my friends host their birthday here(starts here to be more specific). Turn to the bartender for your suggestions if you do not have one in mind. I never made good choice for my friends there. They did.

From the owners of The Black Star in Sheung Wan comes The Black Bird bar. Beautiful views, drinks, staff, Blackbird is a bar tucked away in an unassuming building on Lyndhurst Terrace — in the heart of Central. Come here during Happy Hour on weekdays or enjoy their delicious nibbles and Whisky-infused cocktail menu(maybe a cigar or two) on the lazy weekend. They regularly host World Bartender of the Year competition and host visiting guest mixologists so be sure to get on their mailing lit. They also cater to events. Their roof terrace is something to behold too. Come here for group drinks, first dates or even just on your lonesome. One suggests the spicy chicken wings and pork crackling as a side to share pre-dinner. PMQ is right around the corner…
