We came here on a Wednesday and thankgoodness we made a reservation. The place was packed and we saw people turned away. We did not have much trouble finding the bar. We hiked up Wyndham Street and saw the lantern at the door right away. Followed the lanterns down the corridor and up the stairs and you will arrive at the right door. We got a whole area at the back of the place by ourselves, which was great. This place is DARK but the servers all come with flashlights just in case. Finding the bathroom was also an adventure in the dark. They have a long list of drinks, take your time and ask for recommendations if you can’t decide. We both tried their cocktails and man, were they yummy! The only negative of our experience was the horrible music and sound system. They had a live band that evening but they kept on running into problems with their equipments. I’d much rather they just play some elevator music in the background.

Very intriguing entry — you walk down a candle lit hallway and up the stairs to a closed door. It is very intimidating until opened by a very nice, warm and friendly hostess who welcomes you in. We sat at a booth and ordered delish cocktails that were served in very creative ways(my hubby’s was in a tea cup with egg foam to mimic a coffee) and a side of the truffle rice balls. Delis. The Truffle rice balls were fresh, not greasy and fragrant with truffle oil. They were so good we ordered another, ignoring that they cost about $ 20 a plate! With three drinks, three appetizers the cost was over $ 800HKD. Very expensive but the ambience is very cozy, warm and quiet, a rare treat in Hong Kong.

One of those very elegant, classy, somewhat sitting between hipster-ish and pretentious kind of bars. No sign: checked. Stairs: checked. VERY dark: checked. Cozy furniture and all: Checked. Great crowd: checked. Awesome mixology: checked. Pricey: very much checked. So yeah, 7⁄7 boxes checked. You got it. Just go to the address. When you arrive, you will see nothing but a long dark alley. Go in, no one bites. Turn up stairs as well. Staff will be nice enough to notice your arrival and open the door before you reach the final few steps. Get in, sit at the bar if you don’t have a reservation. Oh yeah, those cozy sofas. Make your booking first if you want them. I know people who’d hate to be here. Some would find it very comfortable, and some would prefer a low-key, more down-to-earth $ 40 a bottle of beer kind of bar. But yeah, I have no problem coming here once awhile, just to impress someone or enjoy a good time. Just remember you have to pay for the premium.

Solid and pricey cocktail bar. It’s a bit hard to locate, just go down the darkest alley you can find and hope you make it to the bar without losing any organs. I ordered some drink they had on special and it was served just how I like it — in an oversized wine glass and packed with booze.

I wasn’t very impressed. Nothing was desired. Things I’ve seen before. That’s just me.

Looking for a place with good craft cocktails relatable to Apothecary in Beijing — Stockton dots the bill. The signature cocktail, Brass Monkey, is blended excellently and is severed with medley of green olives and colorful chips. For two people it was just over 300 hkd.

If you like the game clue or the American prohibition area, then this place is YOUR spot! With a speakeasy vibe that starts off from the very get-go as you have to wind your way down a dark, candlelit corridor just off of Wyndham street(yes, its that’s doorway without signage and you’re going to think you’re heading the wrong way!), head up the stairs and the host will greet you at the top. For NYE, Stockton had an incredible deal of $ 880HK + 10% service charge(came out to $ 968HK) for unlimited champagne, cocktails, and hor d’ouevres from 8:30 p.m. until midnight. The cocktails were a collection of vodka based drinks that had lots of flavor, and one of them came in the cutest copper mug. The hor d’ouevres were also a collection of wonderful — tempura shrimp, pates, and other small dipping tastes. The ambiance is a speakeasy with comfortable seating, dim lighting and artwork lining the walls that will amke you stop and exclaim, «Oh!» The wait staff were incredibly attentive and kept our drinks and table full. It did start to get crowded after the NYE special ended as this place tends to be quite popular given its proximity to LKF.

Located down a long, dark alley, Stockton is meant to be seen as an almost speakeasy bar, similar to the ones in New York. Walking down the dark alley, all you will see are a few candles guiding your path; it could be a little scary for first timers, but go on, it’s worth it! Once you get inside, you will find that it is very much like a gentlemen’s club kind of atmosphere, filled with plush leather sofas and a long dark bar. There are lots of partitions and brick walls for private parties. I have been here multiple times, the first few times were strictly just for whisky. Although they have a large selection of rare and not-so-rare whiskies, but do expect them to be overpriced compared some of the other whisky bars in Hong Kong. On the most recently visit of mine; we actually went for an Oyster Revolution event, which takes place every Tuesday. We sat down around 7:30 and ordered some cocktails and a dozen oysters; we were told it was sold out! It was their event of the evening, how could it be sold out already! We inquired again and they said they had one more tray. As they were served, we almost wished they WERE sold out, as they weren’t so fresh. We decided to give up the oysters and order some of their bar foods instead. We were extremely impressed with the scotch eggs. I haven’t had scotch eggs that were so delicious for a long time. The pork to egg to mayo ratio was perfect! My second cocktail that evening was also a pleasant surprise, I ordered a Ribston Apple, it turned out to be all of my favorite things rolled into one, cinnamon, apple, rum and honey. I would come back just for this drink!
