SOZO Hair Design

Went to Sozo Hair Design this afternoon on short notice — Ambiance was very welcoming and friendly — atmosphere was relaxing.
My stylist (note on short notice) was Tomoaki Sato, who was very accommodating, patient, friendly, sociable and was great with his pair of scissors, showed him a picture and he worked wonders. He was quick and no time wasted, very precise and the result was more than what i expected. Wanted to do more but sadly the stylist is one stylist in demand as he had a booking right after.
All i can say now is «i love my hair» !!!

It was really interesting how I started visiting this salon, but I have been visiting for 2 years since then.
I was backpacking for 9 months and haven’t had any haircut at all. While I enjoyed the long hair, I don’t think my friends enjoyed as much when I came back to HK. My friend has been almost begging me to have a haircut, so I gave in, but on a condition that I could keep the hair and send them to NGO to make wigs for children suffering cancers. He then recommended his friend right next to him, Yoko, and she was happy to make that happen.
Never in my life I’d think I could let a Japanese girl to handle my hair. But it was a breeze in the air. Location was pretty easy to access, right opposite to Fringe Club. You would be greeted by the staff, and they would offer you beverages. I almost felt bad getting white wine (in the middle of Tuesday afternoons?) so I went for the coffee. But it’s entirely up to you, no one would judge…
The hair washing and massaging was so comfortable I often fell asleep, that might give you a hint how good it was.
While Yoko is coming from Japan she speaks perfect English. Most of the hairstylists have one single problem: they do it their way instead of the way they are told to do. Like if I ask to trim «a bit», they will go and trim an inch. The good thing about Yoko is she never does that, never goes over, and always does the exact right length or right style you ask for.
And on top, while I’m a perfectly nice guy (HAHA), my hair isn’t so. They are really hard to handle. I know a lot of guys would just pay $ 100 for a speed haircut, but I’d pay more to get it right. At one point I had two haircuts in the same day because the the first stylist screwed up so badly. I have no idea how Yoko handles it well from the very first time, but now I find the right one and I’m most probably not gonna switch to another one in a long time.
Heads up though, Yoko is the boss and tends to be very busy, so use their online booking thingy to make it easier.
