Almost two years ago when I started working for my very first full-time job in Tsuen Wan, this was the first menu on my first day. So how did I come across this place? Surprisingly it was highly recommended by an American colleague.(If you are reading this you know I am talking about you haha…) So when another new colleague and I were struggling to figure out where to have lunch, he suggested us to this place — «Have you guys tried Knife-Cut Noodle before?» he said. «Nope.» Honestly I prefer typical rice noodles and knife-cut noodle sounds too fancy for me. Anyways, since he was so eager(and you could definitely see the sparks in his eyes), we went there. At first glance, it was just one of those Chinese restaurants on the street — nothing out of ordinary, except maybe the wall of photos with countless local celebrities who have been here. After around 10 minutes of waiting, we got inside. Very local was my first impression. Just when I was wondering how he ordered in this place, and turns out he speaks fairly good Cantonese and all the staff knew him already. A regular diner I bet. He recommended us to have the signature dish and his favorite — Deep fried pork with knife-cut noodle. After a while the food was served. It was very sweet of them to serve the pork separately so that it did not go soft being put in the soup. First try was the soup, fairly sweet flavoured but the star here was the noodles and the pork chop for sure. The pork chop was perfectly fried and the noodles were freshly made and sliced. Very authentic. However, please do expect to wait for the dish for around 20 minutes. The price range is around HKD$ 40 to HKD$ 60. However the food quality is fairly high and with this decent price, it is definitely worth it. Now that I no longer work in Tsuen Wan anymore, I have not been there for a long time but I am sure if I ever go back, I will go there with my friend again.
