I would be lying if I tell you I have not heard of a popular Korean TV show called«You Who Came From the Stars». However, I did not come here because of all the Korean hype since Korean TV drama is just too melodramatic for me so I gave it a pass. My friends told me they have found an authentic Korean barbeque place in Tsuen Wan and since that was so close to where I lived, I went with them and I was really impressed with the quality of the food and the décor. Upon arrival, you would feel like you were in a battlefield as the entire restaurant was decorated like a warzone with staff all dressing up as solders and the seats were like a ration barrel. With the open kitchen where the smoke was everywhere, you would really think you were in a battle. Surprisingly all the TVs here were playing that famous Korean TV shows so I guess I had to take a glimpse of it after all. In less than 10 minutes, the staff already served us the appetizers and we all had a plate full of kimchi, tofu, spring onions, all those Korean food. And they were free and the sour taste really did open up our appetite. After that we ordered some scallops, squids, and my favorite pork belly. Then the waitress gave us a basket of lettuce telling us it was the way to eat with the meat and we could refill any time we wanted. I have never tried that before but I loved that idea as I felt like I was eating quite healthily. So the food arrived and surprisingly the staff came to cook it for us… so the entire time we literally did not have to lift up our fingers(except the eating part of course). The meat was nicely seasoned and cooked properly(thanks to the staff). I cannot really tell you how great the food is you just have to come for a try! One note though, seems like some staff are indeed Koreans(especially I saw two rather handsome Korean-looking staff so you may need to order in English). All in all, I give it a 5 stars for this awesome place that I am sure to go soon enough!
