oh wow. The owner here really needs to check the dining room staff. We went in at dinner time. There were maybe 3 other tables seated, the place was quiet and definitely the staff were not busy. But we sat, and sat, and sat. The phone rang, our waitress answered it, then went back to fiddling with something at her podium. Maybe her snapchat? We started looking around to see if other people had been able to order food, it seemed a few of them had. But never once did the waitress come back. We started thinking, OK we don’t have 2 hours to spend on dinner that will obviously take a long time. So we gathered up our stuff and walked out. The two wait staff, who weren’t doing much of anything, didn’t seem to care.

Food is rich and delicious. They were knowledgable about the wine and the service was on point. Would be a lovely place to take a date. Not too noisy or crowded and high quality food.

For the service and food, this restaurant can easily get a four stars. However, they failed a few things for my visit and also demonstrated who they are not yet able to deliver consistent service. When I arrived without reservation, the staffs immediately prepared the tables and seated us attentively. We ordered from the menu which mostly consist of regular common Greek dishes. It does took a good while for the food to arrive as the timed to get the food arrive together. The lamb souvlaki arrived and it was cooked pretty well. Meat is moist and well seasoned. The side dishes with salad and potato and pita all taste good and with good texture. However, the more expensive lamb chop was over cooked and the side dish was soggy fries. They placed the fries below the lamb chop which probably caused them to be soggy. What more interesting was that one of the lamb chop was dropped on the ground as it was delivering to the table. So they served it worth one less chop and told us that they will make one more to me. When that one last chop newly cooked and delivered to me, it was well cooked with perfect moisture and seasoning and texture. So, they can actually make 5 star food, but only for some of the time. I just wished my entire dish tasted like they, or I should have rejected my entire dish the next time. We also ordered dessert after. Greek yogurt, which you can make at home. And also a baked apple with ice cream. The baked apple is very filling but I think taste pretty good. Only thing is that they tilted the dish as they deliver, so that the dessert arrived looking messed. I think the placement of the dish should at first be designed more easy for delivery. Unfortunately on that, otherwise a pretty tasty and good looking dessert.

My wife and i had a lovely time there today — helpful and prompt service, great atmosphere — you felt like we were in Greece(almost). And the food was pretty good — not being greek food experts we asked for the waitress’s recommendations — we had warm goats cheese covered in sesame seeds, zucchini balls, greek salad, stuffed calamari and the chicken souvlaki We enjoyed the first 3, LOVED the calamari but unfortunately the chicken was overcooked and a bit dry Biggest negative was that when the place was full it got quite noisy and it was hard to hear. Would we go again? Sure

Having just arrived in Hong Kong a day prior, I happened upon this little gem of a restaurant. I can’t speak for all the food but what I got was absolutely delicious, and enough for two meals. The dolmadikia were perfect, probably the best I have ever had. Really, everything was very tasty. All the staff were very friendly. I would return here repeatedly if it weren’t that it pretty much broke my budget. All vegetarian…2 appetizers, a greek salad, glass of wine, baklava and coffee…658HKD… I know it’s Hong Kong so can’t complain. If you like Greek food, don’t hesitate to enjoy this lovely little place right beside the escalator on Elgin St.

I’ve been coming to Rick’s, or as it is now called Santorini, for ages, and it never fails to please. In a great location just off the esco on Elgin Street, it’s a real gem amongst all the other«western» cuisines down the street. Since the rebrand, it has had a new coat of paint, and looks much cleaner and fresher now. However, they still serve the great home style Greek food that I enjoy so much. The menu contains fairly typical dishes; dolmades, saganaki, meatballs, grilled veggies for starters, grilled seafoods and meaty souvlaki for mains, with a decent range of salads and deserts for all the bits in between and after. The dishes are well prepared, in particular the grills which have(for me) that perfect blend of cooked through but not over done in the centre, and charcoaled on the outside. When Mrs L and I go, we tend to find ourselves gravitating towards a number of starters and a salad, going for more of a tapas style sharing of small plates. The wine selection is good, not huge, but plenty to choose from. I like that they serve mainly Greek wines, with only a handful of non-Greek. It’s a nice touch! The staff are great, especially the owner/manager. He’s a bit mental, but always so happy and welcoming. He is also good at stopping us when we over order, which is often! My only downside is the TV in the dining room. I’ve never really liked this, and it’s made worse as it’s always playing football. Sorry footy fans, I just don’t like it. At least the front of the restaurant has a view over the road, so you can watch taxis and the tops of people’s heads going by.
