1 review of Pepper Lunch

I’m no picky eater– I think that’s pretty much established from the wonderful reviews I would do for everyone. Taste buds differ from person to person hence I try not to do any scathing reviews as long as I could help it. I wouldn’t slate anyone off for poor cooking either as I could hardly boil an egg myself; I think you just have to respect someone else’s effort for cooking in the first place. Pepper lunch though– is true to form somewhere that’s cheap and cheerful– as well as delicious. The first one I had gone to was part of a major food court chain and even from the time they were in the small stalls I have made return trips over and over again. Now they have expanded to include dedicated shops that follow the same model of order first and then you will get your food. This one is in Shatin. I think part of the success is to do with the simplicity of what they serve– for the basic menu its just some beef, on a really hot plate with some rice. Add that with the pepper sauce they provide then this simple plate of food turns into a treat. Add to the basic menu with eggs, cheese and more beef and you have yourself a little feast. Its served quick, its served hot and the taste is as strong as you want it to be. There are other items on the long menu though I haven’t tried it before– I believe in going for the basic item. The sets start at around 50HKD which I think is very fair in this day and age. For sure its not for the diet conscious but if you are really hungry, looking for something really tasty and filling; you can’t go wrong with Dr. Pepper.
