The boyfriend and I are attempting to get healthy for the next month(less/no red meat, herbal remedies, the whole shebang). I happened upon Nature’s Blessing after work the other afternoon, on my usual walk towards the SoHo escalators, and thought this would be a good place to stock up. It’s a small store, and easy to miss, but one step inside and you’re in good, green hands. The owner, Fred, is a health expert, and the little shop is packed full of milk alternatives, gluten free products, baby and mother supplements(including Mother’s Milk which my sister swears by), as well as nutritional supplements. I’m still looking for a place that sells herbal teas, so was a little disappointed by the limited selection here(they’ve got two or three YOGI organic tea blends, good for your throat or general detoxing). However, I was also looking to buy some wheatgrass powder, which they had in plentiful selection. I ended up with ‘melrose health’ organic clean green wheatgrass powder which is free from lactose, gluten, artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. I notice my eczema goes a little crazy when I have anything gluten or dairy, so this was a good fit for me. The wheatgrass powder is also meant to rebalance your PH levels and dry skin problems can be related to being slightly too acidic. I suppose I can be sour sometimes. Anyway, if you’re in the dark about all this health hullabaloo, the people at Nature’s Health are more than willing to drop some knowledge. Start off with the small stuff and you’ll undoubtedly be seeing a difference with the energy in your body and overall appearance. It’s a lovely little local shop that really thinks about the products they’re selling — making sure it doesn’t exploit the environment or your health. They also do online, email, and telephone delivery, and you can pay via credit card, PayPal, or cash on delivery! How convenient can you get, huh?
