I stayed at the Metropark for eight days and had a great stay. I’ll definitely be back. Work colleagues use the Metropark so I booked as we have a corporate rate. It is close to work locations and just up the street from the MTR. Starbucks and McDonalds are both only a couple of minutes walk if that’s your thing. Rooms — spacious enough and not overlooked which appears to be rare in HK. Beds are kingsize and comfortable — had no issues sleeping there and towels and toiletries were well stocked. Some nice touches like tea and coffee in the room with welcome cookies and fruit. The mini-bar prices are not over the top either. I also got laundry done and if collected before 10am then it is back by 8pm so fab service! There is a rooftop pool on the 31st floor which has great views over the harbour. It is a small space and the pool isn’t too deep. There are free ice lollies too which is a lovely touch on a hot day. I didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner but I had breakfast. Continental pastries, Chinese noodles and dim sum, cooked breakfast options and fruits and cereals all catered for. I’m gluten free so no bread options but I was fine with fruit and omelettes. If I get gluten free bread here then this is totally a 5* stay :-) I did drink in Vic’s bar(see separate review) which was fine at night. Service is attentive. Great location for Causeway Bay and Times Square. Was working a lot but the neighbourhood has lots of bars and restaurants tucked away in side streets so worth exploring. Service was great. I found staff really helpful in giving directions and just the general service which was consistent throughout my stay. I’m due to go to HK next year for work and I already know that I’ll be booking the Metropark Causewaybay :-)

Punches well above its weight. A decent, affordable hotel with amazing staff. The rooms are nothing to write home about, but the service is amazing. Two specific examples from my four days there: * On my birthday, unprompted, they left me a note to call reception, then offered and delivered a delicious cake, complete with candle. * On the day of our departure, when we mentioned maybe wanting to keep the room until the afternoon, they, again unpromped, suggetsed we could use the health club showers to freshen up before our evening flight.

I’ve stayed here at least 4 times. I just love the quaint little neighborhood surrounding this hotel. Let me run it down for you. 1) Good for business travelers attending HKTDC at the convention center, and yes, they have a free bus during the show. I can never find it when it’s time to go home, though, so be forewarned. Just get on the bus that goes to Causeway Bay and go shopping. Worry about getting back to your hotel later.(Or take a cab if you are uptight.) 2) Happy hour in the bar every night with the nicest lounge singers. They remember me every time. It kills me with delight. 3) The Peace Café next door is the perfect breakfast spot … aside from the overly childlike xylophone music. Man, that stuff is depressing. Ignore it, because their coffee is spot on and so is that little mango/salmon sandwich thing. 4) A lovely walk takes you through a quiet neighborhood full of small restaurants. There’s a great Italian restaurant with, like, 7 tables. Choa’s Hot Potter is down the street. Winter is hot pot season in HK, so you should probably get on that. 5) This place is pretty budget friendly for Hong Kong.

I’ve been to Hong Kong several times, but this is the first time where the hotel wasn’t arranged for me due to academic or business travel. As far as amenities go, everything is quite satisfactory: the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is nice. It’s got all the things you expect(and really, you need in order to survive in Southeast Asia): complimentary bottled water, air conditioning, etc. The rooms are a bit cramped, but that’s to be expected at a location this close to the center of the city. Speaking of location, it is very convenient, right next to the Tin Hau MTR stop, even if it is a bit hard to find, off on a side street. The view overlooking Victoria Park is quite nice, so try to get a room on that side of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is fine, but nothing to write home about. At the price, it’s probably not worth it — better to go take a walk and grab a you tiao(Chinese fried doughnut) and soy milk from one of the many nearby shops.
