I have lived near Austin for a little under three weeks now, and I have picked up takeaway at this place every hungover weekend so far. And a couple weekdays to boot. It is so far my favourite local spot.
Their steam rolls are the bomb. Their spring rolls are delicious, especially with the classic Vietnamese sauce (nuoc Cham?). Their shrimp cakes are equally good. To be honest, I can’t really nit pick at this place because I am often barely lucid with a post-​drinking migraine. I just know that they serve my kind of comfort food, fast and delicious.
Oh yeah, the phở. What can I say? If you’re expecting anything close to what you get in Hanoi, you’re gonna be hard out of luck anywhere in Hong Kong. The broth is admirable, the noodles have a good bite, and the beef is barely rare– but generously portioned. I always feel full after a bowl of these.

I’ve tried to give this chain a couple of tries because it’s famous for being very good Vietnamese food, but I’m sad to report that I’ve been disappointed every time. This time, I had phở with rare beef. The beef was far from rare and there were only three thin slices of it! Besides that, the noodles were hard and under cooked. The soup itself was OK.
I still have yet to find a reasonably priced, good Vietnamese place in Hong Kong. If you know of one, please let me know.

First of all, their food is great!!! Phở, rice fishes, egg rolls, curry and sugar cane shrimp. However, for the area they are at, you would expect a bit cheaper. The giant sugar cane fried shrimp costed $ 42 each. Phở is the same price but portion is small. For 2 of you, you can easily spent over 300 including drinks. However, they are as authentic as you can get compare to those overpriced central Vietnamese restaurant. It’s only 2 stops away from Hong Kong station so why not.
