This place doesn’t even deserve one star. The women who hosted us wasn’t pleasant. Wild shrimp she wanted to charge us $ 65/lb for 10 – 12 shrimp. You’ve gotta be kidding. I can pay for this at a 5 star restaurant. Food was nothing but below average. The pork dish, I can’t even tell if that was pork meat. It was glutinous. Accidentally came on this island and settled for this restaurant. SAVE yourself the trip. This place is NOT worth it.

This place is horrble. Service was terrible food was not as fresh as neighboring restaurants and food was expensive as fuck, even for a tourist area.

I’d give this a 3.5 stars actually. I wouldn’t say I’m a fan because I’ve had better seafood dishes for better prices elsewhere. You’re pretty much paying that extra $ for sitting next to the harbor(a very small harbor, as Yung Shue Wan is a very small town with only one main street!). They advertised their 4 signature dishes on the place mat, which are the lobster with cheese sauce(steamed buns optional, you can also request the longevity noodles for an extra $ 40), baked medium shrimp with butter, stir fry clams and stir fry pissing shrimp with pepper and salt. Because there were only two of us, we order two out of the four dishes — the lobster and the shrimp, and also a mixed vegetables with vermicelli clay pot. There were 3 types of lobster to choose from — Canadian for $ 26 per Chinese ounce or tael, and the other two that I forgot, but the unit price was ~$ 50 and $ 60 per Chinese ounce. Each lobster is at least more than 1 Chinese pound(= 16 taels), even the smallest one. Anyway, we wanted to try other dishes too, so we just got the cheapest kind of lobster, also we don’t know how reputable this restaurant is about lobster cooking so it’s better to be a bit conservative… But we’re glad they cooked it perfectly! The lobster was juicy and tender with a lot of meat! The noodles tasted great too. I wish the sauce was a bit more creamy and less salty though. Their cheese sauce was not my favorite. The shrimps tasted fresh and juicy with the perfect texture. I love how they put a generous amount of onions on top which add a lot of flavor to the dish. The clay pot was decent enough, nothing special. The service was good and bad. The servers were all very friendly and helpful, but they were not attentive at all, which is not uncommon in HK… Their menus have English and Japanese too for tourists. For these 3 dishes, plus couple of beers, we spent around $ 1200 for 2 of us. If you wanna check out Lamma Island, I’d recommend going on a Saturday instead of a Sunday because a lot of shops in Yung Shue Wan close on Sundays, not sure about Sok Goo Wan though. We both had a great, relaxing time with a stuffed tummy, but we probably won’t come back to this restaurant. Once is good. Have fun!
