My family and I stayed at the royal plaza hotel which is where la Scala is located. We had extra credits leftover so we were able to use them for the restaurant. I was amazed by this buffet. They had items that are normally very expensive elsewhere. Foie gras, lobster, paella, German pork knuckle, cheese, the list goes on. Sure there are lines that you need to stand in to get special foods but it is worth it. Everything was good quality and tasted amazing. Waiters were very polite and quick to clear plates. They even had a chocolate fountain for dessert! So many choices to choose from anyone would be satisfied. Only problem is there are times set for how long you can eat and stay at the restaurant.

Dinner is served in shifts, and you have to make reservations. We came for the 8:30−11pm dinner shift. There were a LOT of people already lining up outside to go in. Inside is very crowded. Everyone got up to get food at the same time and it was just chaotic. I hated how they made us wait in lines to get the good stuff(lobster, oysters, sashimi, etc.), and after waiting in line they only give you 2 oysters and a couple of pieces of sashimi. If you want more, you’ll have to go and wait in line again. In general, the food was nothing special. The cost was about $ 450hkd– totally not worth the pain of waiting in line for everything. I also found an eyelash in my ice cream. yuck.
