Indian Village serves an extensive menu of Indian dishes. Whenever a craving for one of my favorite cuisines strikes, Indian Village is firmly in my regular rotation as they’re reliable and fast. What I’ve tried so far: the chicken kathi roll, the dal makhani, chicken makhani, and the butter naan and roti. I wasn’t that impressed with the chicken kathi roll as I barely picked up on any of the garlic sauce and it was quite messy, but both the makhani-style dishes delivered. In fact, I think I prefer the dal makhani to the chicken makhani. Rich, creamy, and a bit spicy, the dal makhani is what you order when you’re seeking the ultimate comfort food. Dip some of that butter naan in the dal and that’s all you need to indulge in the ideal Indian meal. I recommend passing on the roti as it was really dry. Overall though, Indian Village is serving wonderfully complex, traditional Indian flavors. Ambiance is better suited for take-away than dining in, and they also deliver via FoodPanda. I am a fan!

Been coming here for years, right at Mosque street /Mid Levels escalator。 Not a fancy place, but a solid l delicious take out place with a few tables should u want to eat in. For Hong Kong, it’s not expensive but converting into US $ it’s ridiculous — sigh, it’s just a part of being in Hong Kong. :-)

According to our Ethnically Indian friends, this establishment still caters to the«western taste». Nonetheless, I really enjoyed eating here. Looking at it on the surface, it’s not fancy. Basic necessities: A kitchen in the back, chairs, tables, utensils, napkins. But, the food! Yummm! When I was living in California, I had many indian clients who would make Indian Samosa’s for me. I was craving some freshly made Samosas for the LONGEST time and I found it here! We had the Veggie Samosas with the best flaky(but not too flaky) crust!(about 42HKD) Next, I had the chicken Masala cooked with Coconut Milk. You couldn’t taste much a Coconut taste, but that’s ok — it’s still tasty.(about 78HKD) Our next dish is sizzling tandoori chicken with red onions and shreds of veggies! It was really sizzling, so right away, you had a feeling that it would be good.(about 90HKD — not sure about this one) With all this food, we skipped out on the rice and ordered Garlic Naan bread.(20HKD) Just. Perfect. A tip: This place gets busy. And since there’s only one elderly gentleman taking orders(2 cooks in the back) and serving 5 tables, you may need some patience and grace. He’s very kind and really tries to serve well. He did forget to bring us our Roti Bread, but that’s ok. Tip #2: In order to beat the dinner crowd, come at 6:00 p.m. for dinner — that way, you beat everyone else, and you can take your time to enjoy your dinner. Tip#3: If you come in for takeout, you will be waiting a while to just get your order in because there’s just so many people ordering takeout. You’re better off calling in 30 minutes before you want to pick up your order and eat.

Indian Village is a really refreshing option for Indian food in HK. It’s just a small hole in the restaurant on Mosque Street, so it doesn’t have the pretensions of restaurants that have table clothes like Spices or Bombay Dreams. The café itself is very small with two indoor tables, and two outdoor tables. I suspect most people who come here, would use their delivery service or go for takeout. What I like about their free home delivery service, is that they have their own delivery driver, and do not rely on the group websites like Cuisine Courier or Food By Web, who always seem to make a hash of any sort of online delivery anyway. While the café/restaurant is not particularly nice to look at, the food is the opposite. It is supposedly traditional village style, and they serve such classics as; tikka, roganjosh, masalla, madras, you get the idea. They also do a good range of breads, rices, speciality drinks, and wine — yep, wine on the take out/delivery menu — sweet! The menu is actually very big, which is surprising given the size of the tiny kitchen on site. It really does rival the take outs we get back home(and we all know the English invented curry). If you do want to give it a go, I would recommend the malai kofta(a vegetable croquette in a rich creamy curry sauce), and the fish tikka, which is grilled to perfection. They are also not too shy on their portions. With regard to delivery, do check out their pricing, as they are very local to Mid Levels, and getting further out, requires a much bigger minimum order.
