Awesome Hong Kong desserts! This is the original location and it’s worth the trek by taking either the bus or the taxi. No MTR here. Small cute storefront that makes very fresh consistent desserts. Desserts range from traditional sweet asian soups to a fusion of chinese grass jelly and green tea ice cream; mango and additional toppings optional. Prices are very fair and affordable. You can eat here everyday because it’s not that pricey. Service is pretty fast and quick. Definitely worth a visit and a stop on your list after coming from or going to Sai Kung promenade.

Moon Kee is now a chain that could be found everywhere but I keep coming back to this particular shop for a reason: this was the first one. Well, that’s not quite it. It is the first one and the story did start from here. The fact is though, all other Moon Kees in town are always either in malls or right by busy streets; you really don’t feel relaxed sitting there as chances are you will be coming here after dinner and grabbing a bit of dessert. With the Sai Kung shop, you could find places to park nearby(not on weekends by the way) and you don’t really need to wait for a table as such. You could choose the sit outside and have two doggies accompany you and it just feels a bit more relaxed like weekend has come early. The menu is the same for all shops so I’m not going to dwell on it but safe to say that there are always people queuing up for it so it can’t be all that bad. My favourite is their watermelon juice, freshly made it gives you a cool chill in summer evenings and helps to alleviate my guilty conscience after scoffing down so much food somewhere else in Sai Kung. The best part is also you could take a walk around Sai Kung town afterwards– now that’s a USP that trumps all other shops in my book.
