I’ve been living in Korea for the past year… and they don’t eat things like eggs for breakfast. So when I was pursuing Causeway Bay for dinner I was surprised to see the menu here had breakfast for dinner. It was also a plus that they had my favorite thing to eat which was a ham and cheese omelet. The place was packed and as was all the restaurants in the area but I was was seated right away at the counter and ordered. I also added a side of crispy bacon and a kiwi juice. Let me tell you that was the best tasting omelet I’ve have in a very long time and the bacon was perfectly crispy, just like in America. What a meal to start the new year off right. I even went there the next day after a long day of trekking through greater Kowloon. I highly recommend the mint lychee smoothie. That really hits the spot after a meal. Their menu consists mostly of American eats. They’ve got a couple of waffle dishes, mac and cheese and a lot of other things on the menu. So if you’re an expat missing some American home cooking then look no further. There was a mixed crowd of locals and tourists but the food is reasonably priced, service is excellent and even though the space is small it’s got that modern diner vibe going on.

Really great diner! It is so SO hard to find an authentic greasy spoon here in HK and this one definitely hits the spot. Really light and fluffy waffles that’s crispy on the outside, delicious flavourful sizzling skillets, cheap and scrumptious manwiches(aka steak sandwiches), amazing homefries, crispy fried chicken and waffles… They even have a good german pork knuckle! The mac and cheese and pastas are not the best, but there are tons of other options — breakfast, set lunch, tea sets, and dinner options! To top it off, their lattes and americanos are some of the best ones I’ve had in HK. Really good service too. Unfortunately it is located on the second level with no escalator down(only up) so this will pose a problem for those of us who are disabled. Hope that changes soon!

The waffles are not as great as all that. However, if you’re an expat and you’re fabulously homesick, they are a sight for sore eyes. I personally recommend the Eggs Royale or Eggs Benedict. Get to the diner early(meaning 11am since that’s when they open) to get the chef when they’re not too tuckered out from the hungry masses. The best part of the waffle… was that it provided a sturdy place for the rather rigid ice cream to sit on. The mac n’ cheese skillet is kind of fantastic, as are the other skillet options. I’m still not too sure about the alfredo chicken dinner set I had last time… questionable.
