Creative interpretations of Chinese classics, impressively presented. Flavours were excellent for the most part(standouts were the Peking duck and the ten flavour rice) and every course was a treat for the eyes. Room is modern and stylish, standard of service was quite good. All in all, a very special meal.

Came here for lunch with family last month. They have remodeled and changed the name since our last visit. Conveniently located in Wan Chai with underground parking. Food and service is excellent so it is no surprise that price is quite high.

Empire City is an upscale, modern/fancy Chinese restaurant that’s far from boring. The space is well adorned with interesting furnishing, complemented by stylish dinnerware which boosts the dining experience to another level. Every dish we were served is a piece of art, and because it is usually a reinvention of some not-so-commonplace type of Chinese cuisine(Peking roast duck, fried pork buns, and much more I can’t name), they cannot be compared with anything from anywhere else. I give it a 4⁄5 because it’s a highly memorable visual and gustatory indulgence.

The food is here is legit. If you are price sensitive, maybe you can try dining on the weekend when they have deals. Plating and presentation for some of the dishes is awesome. Unfortunately, most of the best tasting dishes aren’t these pretty ones. I would order maybe one or two of the cool looking ones(like the Ha Gow that looks like a shrimp) and then order the real stuff like the duck. FOOD Winter melon soup — tasty. Really good Duck — high quality. Tasty. Crispy. This is their signature dish. Ha Gow — pretty. Actually tasty too. Duck eggs — good. I like them a little warmer though. Fried rice with 10 things in it — tasty. Ingredients finely chopped. Pretty good Toast topped with Ham and melon — good. The toast was perfect

The plating of this place is gorgeous however, Very pricey for the quality of food we got. Our recommendation is to forgo the pretty & cute stuff and get real food like stir fried 5 veg, drunken chicken, Peking duck and cashew sweet soup dessert. A lot of the food we wanted to order was unavailable. The waitress kept trying to up sell us stuff which made no sense to what we wanted to eat… Like, they ran out of truffle baked chicken so they recommended crab. They ran out of this fish dish which costs about $ 400 and they recommended another fish dish… Fair enough, until we realised the price of this fish is going to set us back more than $ 1000! They kept asking whether we wanted wine as well. Unbelievable!
