I stayed here two nights for a business trip. My office was a few minutes walk away. If you can, definitely get a Harbour view room. The view is amazing. I forget what floor I stayed on. The amenities and condition is everything you expect of a quality hotel. I had breakfast in their restaurant — equally relaxing. A mall is connected to the hotel if you’re looking for budget eating or some shopping. I stopped by the rooftop bar but the July humidity kept me back. The staff was very professional — no problems there.

East is my home away from home when I visit Hong Kong. Young, hip and chic! Location though not«Central» or in the«Happening» Area but it is located right next to MTR TaiKoo Subway and can get to anywhere I want either by subway, buses or trams or whatever transportation I desire. The staff here is helpful and understanding even able to credit me for one of the prepaid nights due to a delay of my connection. Size of the room is decent for Asian standard. I love how they try implement as much storage space as possible with the limited footage. FYI, the coffee machine is inside the closet :) Direct connection to CityPlaza so you don’t need to go outside even in the heat or pouring rain to shop or get on MTR! Definitely would stay there again next time when I am in town!

We took a little«staycation» here about 9 months ago with a few girls. A few of us stayed for one night while myself and another girlfriend decided to stay one more night, just for a nice treat. On our first night here, we had 4 girls, we brought everything we needed to for a girls slumber party, jammies, junk food, nail polish, masks, champagne, chocolates, desserts, really everything you can think of. On our first night, we wanted to watch Sex n the City so we brought our own dvd. The guys from the lobby were really helpful, as they came up to install a DVD player which was not part of our room. The only downside, is that the volume could not be turned up! We tried multiple times and tried cranking it up to the loudest, yet the loudest we could have turned it, was still way too soft. We could barely hear the movie at all. I think one of the reasons is that the walls were thin as paper, we could hear everything going on from the outside of the rooms. I could even clearly hear the showers next door, even that was louder than the tv. Anyway, we had a very lovely evening. The hotel was cozy, a bit snug for four of us, but nonetheless a very nice girls night. We also ordered food from room service. Yup. we had the full experience. The dinner were served in takeaway trays, it felt like we bought take out. The food wasn’t exactly the yummiest, but meh. what do you expect at 11pm. The next morning, we ordered room service breakfast, and again they were served in takeaway trays. I mean, I don’t mind it so much, but it makes it not feel like a hotel room service experience. Unfortunately the next day, it was raining so we didn’t get much of a chance to use the facilities. The pool looked nice, too bad we couldn’t use it. Overall, the experience was great, the rooms were a bit cozy, expected from a hk hotel, the bar(Sugar) was a very nice experience and we enjoyed our time here.

A stylish, trendy hotel in Island East perfect for business or a staycation close to home. The vibe is relaxed, but professional and the hotel itself is light, clean and very close to the business hubs of both Island East and CityPlaza, as well as the MTR and shopping centre. The covered walk way adjoining CityPlaza shopping Centre from L1 means you can get to the mall and MTR without leaving the comfort of decent airconditioning. Level 1 is also home to Feast, the hotel’s restaurant, which is perfectly adequate. Sugar, the rooftop bar, is on level 32 and provides fantastic views of the area. On that note, East is the only hotel I’ve stayed at where they are honest enough to note: «In this urban metropolis, our neighbours are close by and the views you enjoy through the windows are always two-way.»(on the back of the room card pocket) The rooms are spacious and well-done but, as noted above, you probably want to keep your blinds down(if not always closed). There are iPods and docking stations in all rooms, and the jar of sweets is a nice touch. The layout of my corner room meant that it was quiet tricky to watch TV from the bed, it was on the wall parallel to the bed itself, but no ‘cable’ TV that I could find, meant the offerings on the standard channels were pretty limited and I couldn’t find anything I wanted to watch anyway. There were a lot of Sports and News channels though so if that’s your bag you’re all good.
