A cool quiet oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Causeway Bay. Delightful spot for afternoon refreshment. From a full lunch to just a drink. It is just a hotel dining room and not much of an authentic anything but it is cool and pleasant

Café One is one of the few, or perhaps only, hotel restaurants I know that aren’t physically in the hotel. So many times had I walked right past it when going to HMV, not knowing that Café One was actually part of the Park Lane Hotel! I’ve only been here once for a friend’s birthday dinner, and it was a more than satisfying buffet. The selection of food was great — to start with, I made multiple trips to the salad bar and had loads of salmon — both the smoked salmon and the sashimi. The salmon sashimi was really fresh and I probably ate more than ten pieces! There was pan-fried goose liver as well, which was absolutely divine — it was just melt-in-your-mouth goodness. There was also this baked potato with a layer of melted cheese as well, which was really good too but would’ve been better if it was hot instead of just warm. I’ve never really been the kind of person to eat a lot of the mains at a buffet, but this was an exception — the roast beef was really, really good. It was nice and tender and the gravy that came it just brought out its flavor even more! There was a pasta bar as well, where I opted for farfalle in cream sauce with mushroom and bacon. The portion for this was quite small so I actually went back for seconds. They had a pretty good variety for dessert too. There was Haagen Dazs, which frankly speaking is already enough to satisfy me! The chocolate cake was a little dry, but the coffee pudding was great. There was a chocolate fountain too, but unfortunately they had run out of marshmallows and strawberries(it was well past eleven by then) so I could only have it with melon. I would definitely recommend Café One for a decent hotel buffet. The variety of food was great and I wasn’t disappointed by anything really, besides that they never refilled the marshmallows and the strawberries for the fountain. Service was good too and my plate was always gone by the time I returned with a new plate of food.
