Unpretentious comfort food is what Aberdeen Fishball place is about. During my last trip to Hong Kong, I was buying some electronics in the Mong Kok Super Market and I asked one of the sales guys for his favorite noodle place and he wrote down the name and address of this restaurant. I dined in by myself that day and next day I got my colleagues and this was the most inexpensive but highly satisfying meals of our trip During our 10 day stay we ended up coming here almost once daily. This place is very inexpensive, fast and no frills. Dont be afraid if other people come join you on your table. I tried the following things from Aberdeen and I could eat them all over again. An order of fish ball soup with a side order of braised greens is a must must no matter what time you go. Shrimp fried rice is a huge portion and can be easily shared this by 2 – 3 people. Sweet and sour fish is the best we had in Hong Kong. The fish pieces are nice and chunky and the dish is not very saucy and the fish is nice and tender. This place is cash only. Dont expect too much in terms of service. Trust me you wont be disappointed if you just go there for food. Located right in the midst of Mong Kok Market and is very close to the Mong Kok train station.
