Made this Texan feel right at home! Good meats and really good sides. The BBQ Chicken was nicely cooked. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese for a side.

For a girl who has lived in Texas and is also from Nevada, I thought this was pretty good BBQ. Pretty authentic for being located in Hong Kong… or an authentic as you are going to find around this neck of the woods. Make note: CASHONLY establishment! Fried okra, benches for tables, several BBQ sauces to doll up your meat… all in sync with a good BBQ experience. Okra was good(not soggy or anything, lightly battered, hot and fresh), pulled pork sandwich was good(but does require BBQ sauces provided at table to really complete the taste & tasted like it was sitting in a warming pan for a bit of time) and meat fell off the bone on the ribs. Big draft beet and cool music was playing on their sound system. I dont really think of BBQ in Hong Kong and know that nothing is going to be as good as the real deal of what you can get back in the USA(or as their name«85 South» insinuates, they are looking to be compared to the USA), but this was good stuff and we would return if ever having a hunkering for some good American grub.

I recently grow this love for barbecue. When I terribly craved ribs, this one pops on my mind. I do considered Smokey Joe, but seems this one is more money wise. Yes, totally American style with tray and beer, plus napkin. I got a rib tray, sideless and a beer for 120HKD. The rib is a bit dry, but the fat was cooked through. Guilty pleasure for Friday. My friend got a sandwich with a bit of everything. Grilled and shredded chicken, caramelized onion sandwich, and fries. Value for money and meat lovers paradise.

This small shop serves up American BBQ goodness. More specifically, this is a Carolina Style BBQ joint orginally founded by some guys from the US. During lunch this place is packed with American Expats«putting some south in their mouth.» The menu consists of several popular BBQ items including pulled pork and pork spare ribs. I typically go for the Pulled Pork Sandwich Combo which includes a heaping portion of pulled pork, fresh french fries(chips) and cole slaw. Like a proper BBQ joint, copious amounts of napkins are located on each table along with a selection of sauces. Here they have three sauces: sweet tomato bbq, carolina vinegar bbq, and mustard bbq. I recommend you sample all three! The glass of this shop is tinted so it often looks closed from far away. It’s worth making the effort to verify the door is unlocked, the bbq is hot, and the beer is cold.
