I only tried their lobster bread but I’m not too impressed. It was $ 58HKD per order but the lobster was tasteless and dry. Service was ok but nothing too impressive. Overall just eh. You could probably make it better at home.

Looks better than it tastes. Buffet with impressive array of offerings, but generally forgettable meal. The impressive variety sort of buffers the actual quality of the food. For example, there was a braised beef item that was under-braised — the meat really didn’t absorb much of the flavor of the liquid and was disappointingly tough. There was a traditional steamed fish that was over-cooked and dry. There was a cold noodle dish that was totally un-seasoned. Desserts largely forgettable as well. There were a few good dishes but nothing that stood out enough for me to remember… I had only about 1 hit for every 2 – 3 misses. The fruit and sushi were reasonable.

I went to 2+2 café in Royal Park Hotel with my family a couple months back for their supper buffet after buying a deal on Groupon for it. Royal Park Hotel is pretty close to my house, so I thought it made perfect sense for us to head there for a(really) late dinner and then come back at midnight. We basically starved ourselves until 10pm to take full advantage of the buffet! Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to take full advantage of. The ‘main attraction’, so to speak, was the oysters, and they weren’t even that good. They were pretty small and I could taste sand in some of them, and my father said that these definitely weren’t very fresh. The line for the oysters was permanently super long; the first few times when I walked there, I decided to get other food first and line up later when the queue is shorter — but the line never got shorter. In the end, I gave up and just queued. The reason the line was so long was that the guy was shelling the oysters and running them under cold water particularly slow. This was obviously their tactic so that people wouldn’t have the chance to eat that many. In fact, I saw the manager come up, whisper something to the guy, and then the guy slowed down even more! It was as if the manager told him that he wasn’t going slow enough. Everybody in the line was grumbling about how this was taking forever, and I was no exception. The variety of food at the buffer wasn’t that big either. I mostly just had a lot of Caesar salad, salmon sashimi and Haggen Daiz ice cream. The roast beef was pretty good, but when I returned for more, the guy was gone and there was hardly any beef left — and there was no sign that they were going to take out more. I guess one commendable thing is that their latte was really good! It was self-service at their coffee machine, and the latte was nice and milky. I also had about five scoops of ice cream to make up for what I couldn’t eat in the oysters that I was so excited for. To be fair, I think the supper buffet wasn’t great because practically every one was using a Groupon voucher — they gathered that people were only here for that reason, and wouldn’t be back anyway so they had no incentive. I’ve been here for an afternoon tea buffet before and thought that that was much better — there was a decent variety and I managed to get pretty full from it.
