We found this place near one of the Christmas markets, so we just had to go in! The chocolates are beautiful and they have stunning«bullet» shaped ones that are airbrushed. We got a few«bullet» ones and some regulars ones. They were good, but I felt that some just didn’t have as much flavor as others. The crème brûlée was really my favorite. I gave it three stars because it seemed like we were just ignored for quite a while. It wasn’t busy or anything, but just seems like they didn’t want to serve us. That might just be a bad perception, but we actually almost left because of it. We just stood at the chocolates and waited while others were helped(other we spoke German), and then I guess some friends of theirs came in. And because the chocolate was okay but I’ve had better,

Nothing like drunken chocolate in the morning! Was in Cologne, DE checking out the Dom(the Cathedral of Cologne) and lo and behold up comes this chocolate shop that you would swear was a drugstore from afar. It was a cool morning and while walking by with friends, one of us was told this was a must visit for the bullet praline, LOL. Suffice it to say, it was a really interesting stopover for different looking and tasting chocolate. Chocolate beautifully crafted in the shape of a bullet, too phrackin’ funny but kinda cool. Then you look around and this place grows on you by the second. You try the chocolate and they have really good, high cacao content choc that would please a discerning chocaholic. So each of us got a box a choc bullets. My faves were: salty peanut butter(cocoa and salt peanut butter together, way better than Reeses), licorice(amazingly bold in taste rich in licorice), Tequila(chocolate with Tequila liquor, super good, bought more and downed 3), apple tatin(liquor infused, think apple tini), raspberry rose(odd combo but the rose flavor was distinctively nice) and the Tanzania 52%(If you want stronger 75%. Germans love dark bitter chocolate and if you like dark, this flavor has a strong and pronounced dark choc flavor, more liquor inside). The pieces are works of art, whether it’s bullet, statue or bottle form. It appears this shoppe is famous for its chocolate sculptures as well. There were some really interesting sculptures in chocolate catered to every fetish to relish. No lie. Walked out of Jan von Werth, into the cool 22 degree morning nicely warmed to the toes. A Kolsch beer after that and I was having a fine day. Visits: 1 Tip: They do classes on the art of refining cocoa, in German.
