Location, location, location! On our first ever«big trip» the wife(gf at the time!) went to London/Paris for a romantic getaway. I had never been to Europe and to this day I think of this trip as a turning point in my life. I always say for the first time in my life I felt like an adult when I made the decision to walk across the street from this hotel and go into a small grocery store. What did I get? Not Coke, candy or beer. Rather I got a 12 pack of bottled water. Yep, that was the first time I feel I made an «adult decision». So the location of this hotel — for the price especially(at $ 150 a night when I booked online) — is phenomenal! Walking distance to a main train station. From there you can go to virtually all the sites of interest for a reasonable fare. The biggest thing was that it was walking distance to the Eiffel Tower(we went ATLEAST6 times) which made for a nice(although a bit scary) night time stroll for a panini under the tower. Along with the great mini mart to stock up with the essentials there is also an awesome bakery a block or two away that we had breakfast at every single day(Boulangerie Poilâné). There is even a McDonalds if you are into that kind of stuff — yes, we were in Paris and ate McDonalds, we were young, broke and hungry! Won’t make that mistake again. The hotel isn’t massive. It’s off a main street and the entire staff spoke perfect English. The elevator is tiny and the room is just what you would expect if you read any reviews for European rooms. The room had a great view of the Eiffel tower and at night it was all lit up — beautiful. Beds weren’t too memorable, but certainly comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep, recharge and hit the city again in the morning!
