Plage privée bien situé à proximité du vieux nice.
Les assiettes ont l air belle et copieuse, le tarif suit également mais normal vu le lieux.
Impeccable pour se poser un dimanche au soleil.

Got here after along day of travel.
Ordered two Piña Coladas, they were served warm with two cubes of ice.
After asking for a refund or a new drink we were denied by management.
Not a great start to our wonderful vacation.
I would suggest visitors beware!!!

A 5 mn de l’appart ! Encore une fois, le côté pratique l’emporte ! ! Il faut optimiser son temps: D A chaque plage sa spécificité, j’aime cette adresse pour siroter un soft l’aprem, moins pour m’installer sur un transat.
Les fauteuils du bar sont ultra confortables. Je prends quelques magazines et je reste une petite heure. Personne né vous jugera. Je né réserve pas de matelas et je né commande pas la mega bouteille de champ’ et pourtant l’accueil est agréable. Je tombe souvent sur la même serveuse, très avenante.
Le personnel à l’entrée peut paraître un peu froid, je le reconnais… L’ambiance n’est pas du tout bling bling. La simplicité est mise à l’honneur.
Pour info, il y a des espaces bien protégés du soleil. C“est indispensable l’été même si vous résistez plutôt bien à la chaleur.
Je né peux pas vous donner mon avis sur le restaurant car je n’ai jamais déjeuné sur place.
Je suis dingo de la vue mer avec les jolis parasols bleus et blancs, un véritable paysage de carte postale. Parfait pour patienter en attendant vos prochaines vacances !

Not a good choice. Service was appalling, a number of mistakes and the workers may need to go back to hospitality school! Paying customers shouldn’t expect to be spoken down upon. Seems the staff didn’t communicate either with one saying a
menu item was not available, only to have another provide that choice! Not child friendly, and the lifeguard patrolling the ‘private beach’ was selective with whom he allowed to sit on the rocks, despite us being a restaurant customer. A poor reflection on Nice. Not even the one star rating.

Avoid this place like the plague!
We had lunch here yesterday and it was a completely unpleasant affair. The service was the worst my family and I have had anywhere in Europe (after travelling Spain, Portugal, Italy and France for the past 3 months).
The waitress (I’d say mid 30’s with short blonde hair) was a nightmare. So arrogant (clearly not a fan of tourists), rude and inefficient it was a joke.
We waited for our table, no problem, then once seated it all went downhill. Took drinks order — she got it wrong and then have us attitude for her mistake. We then waited for 45 minutes to place our food order, asking her a couple of times as she passed by if we could and she said in a moment. Then we asked about a special on the menu, not available — but so so rude in how she spoke.
Our group were then publicly berated (in the restaurant) for feeding the pigeons — which we had not — how could we if we had NO FOOD!!! Still the rudeness continued.
More mistakes and arrogance continued and ruined a beautiful day in nice. The food too was average, particularly when you pay a reasonable price.
Bland bland bland.
Avoid this place at all costs, SO many other places to eat do not go here. A disgrace! If I could give no stars I would. I have travelled to many parts of the globe and this service is amongst the worst ever!

We stopped off to grab a snack and beer. The view is great. They also rent out lounge chairs and umbrellas for 15 euro per person if you want to hang out there. We got a meat plate and a few beers for 24 euro.
For those who do not speak the language: little to no English spoken here.

Bonjour, Nicois depuis de nombreuse générations j’ai voulu dejeuner en famille au restaurant de la plage. Au moment du dessert j’ai emis le souhait d’un café gourmand avec changement d’une gourmandise,à ma grande stupeur la direction a mis son veto. Je me suis senti tres vexé vis à vis de ma femme et mon fils. La note était pourtant sympatique. J’ai ralé en nissarte…

11.02.2013. My wife ordered lunch and I went swimming. (tip. why pay for a lounge chair when you can sit and eat and drink for not much more?) Pasta and shrimp was decent. Grade of B on our rating system. Beach is rocky and will hurt feet when walking. (Tip. When getting in and out of the water, do it quickly. Otherwise the waves throw rocks on your feet for a longer period of time.) There are toilettes and a place to change inside. Not the cleanest, but better than nothing. Would go here again.

Just awful. Can’t even review the food or drinks because we were ignored for over an hour, not visited at all except when a server came over right after we got there to scold us to put our umbrella down because it was too windy at the time and then ran away to serve other people. After 45 minutes on an uncomfortable chaise lounge on the beach I was fed up and tried going inside to order a drink at the bar myself. The bartender was so rude and refused to make me a drink, claiming there were 3 servers outside and basically shooed me away. There were three servers– 2 on the near empty patio and 1 running around the busy beach. I went up to one of the patio severs — who was literally just standing there doing nothing– and asked if I could order a drink from him and he said no and told me to sit on the beach and wait for the other server. Unbelievable. After waiting another 25 minutes (and we even tried flagging down the beach server) we packed up our stuff and went to leave. I demanded to speak with the manager who then got the beach server to help translate my English. All I wanted was my money back but instead got repeatedly asked if I wanted to order a drink (not even be given a free one after almost 90 minutes of zero service). Not one apology at all. Ridiculous. Go to Beau Rivage instead, next door. They were amazing the day before, and the only reason we went to Opera Plage was because Beau Rivage was closed for a special function.

This plage (beach) is the closest from the tram and is probably one of the busier places. If you don’t want to sit on the rocks, you can pay 15 euro per person for a lounge chair and umbrella. You can rent towels here too. Some women go topless and sunbathe in a thong. One guy shaved a square onto his chest hair. Lots of strange tourists here. If you want a more authentic feel, take the bus from Le Port to Eze Beach.
The food is ok here. The salads are bland but the pasta was pretty good. The service is pretty efficient and friendly.
Bring water shoes. Doesn’t look pretty in photos but will save your feet. Also, don’t take home any rocks. It is illegal. I saw tourists doing that.

Bad place, price too high, nobody who work here speak other language than French, don t try it

The French Riviera was a stop on our cruise so there was only one opportunity to make a good impression on my friends and after lunch at the Opera Plage they were clearly left wondering what all of the fuss is about.
This beach club is on the budget end of the spectrum with regard to other beach clubs in Nice. The lounge chaises are worn, bathrooms smelly, the tables had no linens, the service was terrible. The food, on the other hand was decent but I was disappointed to see the menu more Italian inspired than French. While the salad Niçoise was not best I’ve had it was fresh and tasty.
Sadly I was not in a position to choose the restaurant or else I would have chosen a nicer beach club. As part of a large group of approximately twenty, we were so unfortunate as to be waited on by a young woman for whom it was the second day on the job. She wrote nothing down and proceeded to make mistake after mistake. Lunch was a torturous affair. All of this under the supervision of a man we assumed to be the manager. He made no effort to assist her or us.
I have been to the Riviera several times and this was by far my worst experience anywhere. I was most disappointed that it left a very poor impression on those in our group for whom it was a first visit. I’ve had many lunches at other beach clubs in Nice and along the French Riviera. Even if the waitress had been exceptional the state of the restaurant left much to be desired. If Opera Plage is best you can afford, go for it. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

Très agréable
J’ai passé un très agréable moment sur cette plage cet été, cette dernière a été entièrement rénové et est devenue bien mieux décoré que la dernière fois ou j’y suis allé. La cuisine était très bonne et le service très intentionné. Le seul problème vient de l’influence en pleine saison (mais vu le rapport/​qualité prix ce n’est pas étonnant…) Je la recommande dans tous les cas !

So beautiful! So perfect! We stayed at a hotel near here and it was so nice to wake up and smell the ocean! The water is so turquoise blue! There’s a restaurant off the beach and they serve you drinks and little bites while you enjoy the ocean! There were parts of the beach that were a little rocky (pebbly) and we were told that’s how the «on the rocks» drink came about. My daughter loved the rocks though and she collected a few. We took a few of our favorites home and put it in a jar for her.
The place was so beautiful, that we conceived our second child there. I know, TMI, but that goes to show you that you lose all inhibition when you are in Nice!

I loved the beaches of Nice! No sand to get in anything, if you know what I mean. I did not actually pay for the private beaches with chairs, I just thought it was the name of the beach lol, but if you are here for a special occasion, I would recommend getting a chair and paying or it, because I was by myself and I could relax everyday twice a day for free and I did not have trouble finding a spot. Also my b&b lent me her straw mat and a towel so I was set. Bring water shoes, who cares if it looks nerdy, because these rocky beaches hurt your feet! or go in the water in your flip flops.

No way I was going to sit on the rocks so I gave this place a try.
Pretty nice and very comfortable.
Tip: You’re not allowed to bring in your own food and drink. Water is 3.5 Euro and a pineapple drink 4 Euro. They offer food but don’t know the price. If you want to save Euro, just bring your food and drink in your backpack and then when you’re ready to eat take your food outside the rope boundaries for lunch and then come back and relax on your lounge chair.

You’ll insist you’ll never lie on rocks again. Opera Plage offers quick access to bathrooms, a bar, a restaurant, a chaise lounge, and a sturdy beach umbrella for 14 Euro a person. For those used to more private beaches, sitting in rows of chairs can seem a bit the opposite of relaxing at the beach, but if you’re going to be on the beach in Nice, this is not a bad place to be.

Gorgeous, gorgeous beach! Very picturesque and family friendly. Lots of great shopping and eating close by to enjoy after an amazing day of sun bathing.

Service excecrable, plage a l’interieur vétuste, mauvaise ambiance, certes journée à 14 euros mais né vaut il pas mieux payer plus pour passer une bonne journée !!!

«Opera Plage» ou en français «La Plage de l’Opéra»…
On dirait que j’ai un peu bloqué sur ma ville natale !!! Non !!!
La Plage de l’Opéra est tout simplement la plus ancienne plage de France ! Et oui ! Elle a ouvert en 1889 et l’on imagine bien les premiers baigneurs dans leurs superbes costumes… La Plage dans ces années-​là était synonyme de bienfait, de bien-​être, presque sur ordonnance. Aujourd’hui même si l’on aime s’y rendre, elle est malheureusement synonyme de pleins de maux, si l’on est pas prudent !!! Le soleil, les microbes, la pollution, … Bref…
Notre plus ancienne plage est donc toujours ouverte, rénovée, avec des transats face à la mer, sur des galets (à Nice, c’est galets ! Mais, c’est bien aussi ! Pas de châteaux de sable, mais beaucoup plus propre!!!).
On peut donc y louer des transats et un parasol pour la Journée. Réservez, car c’est The Must dans la ville. Très couru en fait comme lieu ! On peut aussi y déjeuner d’une cuisine méridionale, et avant tout niçarte, délicieuse.
Des Soirées aussi de temps en temps, et là on frôle le Kharma !
Ces soirs-​là, La Plage ferme vers 2 heures du matin…

This made my trip to France. I had not been enjoying it all all, until I came to Nice. The people here are warm, the beach is lovely, and it atmosphere amazing.
The sea is particular is blue as they come, and has gentle waves. Perfect!

Vraiment dommage que l’amabilité né soit pas au rendez-​vous. L’hôtesse blonde qui est la fille du patron peut nous voir toute l’année, jamais bonjour, jamais au revoir. Nous y allons pour boire un café, ce n’est peut-​être pas suffisant pour remplir le tirroir caisse. Les serveurs né sont pas plus aimables sauf un mais pas très pro, le service est très long hors saison. Nous y allons uniquement pour le lieux et pour la proximité, ma mère ayant beaucoup de mal à marcher. Sinon le lieux est agréable mais mieux vaut né pas aller aux toilettes qui sont minables.
Dites bonjour et au revoir Madame la blonde, ce sera mieux.

What can you say about the Cote d’Azur? The water is simply spectacular — it’s the French Riviera for God’s sake! This is the stuff of legends.
The rocky beaches, however, take some getting used to — especially as a Floridian. So, we headed for a local beach club, where we rented cushy lounge chairs and had access to showers, bathrooms and food/​drinks. The Opera Plage was the most affordable we found (at 14 Euro per chair rental), and we couldn’t have been more comfortable. The blue striped umbrellas, cocktail selection, friendly waitstaff and close proximity to the gorgeous Mediterranean made for an extremely memorable day. Worth every penny! For those who have never visited the Cote d’Azur, I would highly recommend it — also, buy some Croc knockoffs at a local store, or your feet are in for some unpleasantness on the rocky shoreline.

Nous sommes bien d’accord, nourriture idigente, toillettes sales, service peu aimable, caissiere vulgaire. Les anciens associés de cette plage doivent en être malades…

Jamais déçu
Contrairement aux deux commentaires précédents, cette plage né m’a jamais déçue, que ce soit par son accueil ou par sa cuisine. J’y retournerais régulièrement cet été. Et le tarif n’a vraiment rien d’excessif bien au contraire !

Décevant :-(
Exemple typique du restaurant qui abuse d’un emplacement en or, à quelques mètres des vagues et en plein soleil. Nous y avons pris l’apéritif aujourd’hui: des cocktails, corrects mais vraiment sans plus (très peu d’alcool, rien à grignoter avec, zombie non disponible (sachant qu’il n’y a que 5 cocktails à la carte), piña colada vraiment pas crémeux) et surtout un service particulièrement désinvolte: bien que le restaurant accepte les cartes bleues, le serveur a essayé de nous convaincre de payer avec du cash, puis a fini par lacher «bon, je vais faire l’aller-retour avec la machine» (il y avait bien 20 mètres à faire, et ce n’était pas franchement l’heure de pointe… trop dur !)

j ai très bien mangé sur cette plage. La tapenade maison était délicieuse!

Oui alors le bord de mer fait 6 kms alors cette escroquerie prendra un jour fin pour peu que l’on diffuse l’information, au delà d’une décoration kitchissime, la nourriture y est indigente et le service déplorable !
On se demande comment la mairie peut renouveler la concession de cette plage à des professionnels pareils qui ruinent la réputation des plagistes niçois

oui je confirme que la qualité de la nourriture laisse à désirer ! et le service est pas forcement aimable. Mais la clientèle est acquise car le bord de mer n’a pas de prix !!

Je sors d opera plage, vu la belle journee d’aujourd’hui, j’ai décidé de manger au soleil
Mal m’en a pris en guise de lasagne al forno j ai eu droit a une portion de lasagnes industrielles bas de gamme a 16 euros la limite de l’escroquerie est proche, quant à la Pizza Royale de mon ami, une vulgaire pizza surgelée achetée à la superette du coin et je suis gentil
Une honte 40 ans que ces restaurateurs sont installés.

En ce qui concerne le coté plage, voici l’image qu’elle donne de Nice: grandeurs et decadences ! Tout d’abord accueil absolument pas sympatique, ensuite arrivée sur la plage: les transats né sont pas propres (en arrivant a 10h30) passé 11H les nouveaux arrivants se battent quasiment pour avoir un parasol. En ce qui concerne le repas, surtout né pas prendre la formule «pieds dans l’eau»: plats ridiculement petits et sans intéret. Les serveurs nous font en plus gentiment remarquer que nous devons nous estimer heureux d’avoir une telle «prestation» vu le prix que l’on a payé, alors demander une carafe d’eau pour accompagner notre pauvre salade… Sincerement extremement déçue.

Accueil super moisi
Alors déjà, personne pour venir prendre la commande, et quand quelqu’un arrive au bout d’une demie heure, c’est le big (gros) boss qui vous dit que vous né pouvez rester assis là car c’est réservé aux clients de la plage… autrement dit, si vous avez pris un matelas. A défaut, il vous fait carrément dégager malgré l’insistance à lui dire que vous venez pour consommer. Savoir que c’est un restaurant et un bar quand même… autrement dit, s’il pleut et que né prenez un matelas… et ben vous n’avez plus qu’à aller ailleurs ! Ils feraient mieux d’essayer un étal de fruits et légumes !!! Bön courage à ceux qui ont envie de tenter !

Déception renouvelée chaque année
Je vous fais part de mon mécontentement concernant «Opéra plage». Chaque année j’y retourne pensant y trouver une amélioration et chaque année ma déception grandit au point d’affirmer que définitivement aujourd’hui je n’y retournerai plus. Le week-​end Pascal qui vient de s’achever en est une preuve supplémentaire sur le non-​professionnalisme qui y règne. Le service est déplorable. Pour exemple, nous étions un groupe de 4 personnes. La terrasse était bien garnie. Le soleil brillait à son zénith. Cela faisait déjà une heure que nous attendions que quelqu’un vienne prendre notre commande et apparemment nous n’étions pas les seuls à attendre. Le personnel était complètement débordé et le mécontentement grandissait. Au point qu’un des serveurs connu pour son ancienneté dans l’établissement nous dit que «si nous n’étions pas contents, nous pouvions nous lever et partir». Cette remarque fut appliquée au pied de la lettre par certains clients. A un certain moment donné plusieurs tables se sont demandés où était la caméra cachée car lorsque le serveur prenait une commande, arrivé au bar pour la transmettre il l’avait déjà oublié et était obligé de retourner voir les clients pour leur demander confirmation de ce qu’ils avaient commandés. Ou alors lorsqu’il arrivait avec la commande les clients étaient partis à force d’attendre. La direction sur place était inexistante pour remédier au problème. Et nous né sommes qu’au mois de Mars ! Je plains les Juillettistes et les Aoûtiens.

La plage des Niçois
Ce café-​bar de la plage, situé en face de l’opéra, est le lieu de rencontre des Niçois. Il est ouvert pendant toute l’année. Contrairement aux autres bistros des plages qui sont trop touristiques (attrapes-​gogos) et ou le service est parfois bien mauvais, l’Opéra-plage est bien connu pour son accueil sympa. On y rencontre toujours des habitués niçois. Seule la qualité de la cuisine laisse à désirer, mais pour les restos des plages, c’est devenu une habitude. Mais le service est très gentil et il est très facile de faire connaissance des Niçois. Nous apprécions surtout l’humour du patron. On se sent bien intégré ! A recommander surtout en hiver et pendant la basse saison !
