Your basic student café with lots of scholastic charm from the wood floors to the exposed pipes. We had palačinka (crepes), one plum jam and fresh cheese, the other sheep cheese and bacon. Both were excellent, thin and flavorful. Illy coffee from Trieste served strong as espresso. The best part being a visitor to Czech and Brno is to experience the student dynamic, young, fresh, ready to change the world (it’s about time).

Stopped here one Saturday morning to get an easy breakfast. Didn’t want to go too much by menu I asked for scrambled eggs and bacon, coffee and freshly squeezed juice.
Few positive and negative surprises influenced my overall rating.
Place:
really nice location, walking distance to the city centre, yet nicely secluded on the Spilberk hill side — away from noisy crowds. Probably favourite stop for mums with pushchairs. It was beautiful morning so decided to sit outside, while I noticed that the music from interior was pretty loud (amusing the staff?) so outside would be my only option anyway.
Food:
I thought you can’t go for more basic with scrambled eggs, but unfortunately it looks like it is possible. I expected scrambled eggs with one/​two steaks of bacon, but got two (micro) sunny-​side ups, probably made in one of those pans with four circles (hence the limitation of size), with ‘traces’ of pulled bacon inside. Well… But what was worse was that one egg was basically cooked well (not running) and the second half-​way. I was thinking for the moment that I will return it, but don’t know what change that decision inside me … maybe that lovely sunny morning and decision not to disappoint people … I don’t know. Actually I was thinking — if the waitress didn’t noticed that faulty food by her professional eyes, then maybe there’s room for improvement (attention to details).
Another decision to go for nice breakfast was to avoid buying tired bakery products (rohlik). but I received exactly the same I tried to avoid. Probably bought from the same shop.
Coffee was fantastic and I was thinking to go for another one!
Fresh juice — was ok, the only downside was the surprisingly small glass — 0.2l. I’m quite thirsty in the morning and although this was mentioned on the cart, I didn’t expect that. In the country of ‘standard’ drink size of 0.5l this was really small amount.
Service:
Service was very fast, no issues with that. I don’t know about logistics in this place, but I’ve been served by three different waitresses during my 20min stay. One was actually confused asking me if I’d like to pay once I already paid. Hm.
Summary — place with great coffee and with potential but quite few basic things still need to improve.

— Great ambiance both indoor and outdoor. The café is located at the entrance of the Castle park.
— Good coffee and Free WiFi
Nagative:
— Ordered an apple pie and it was not prepared right.
