Brighton

Lo único buen del Brighton es la vista y su ubicación. El menú es realmente pequeño y simple. Para vegetarianos las opciones son ensaladas (ninguna novedosa) o sándwich, también bastante aburridos (pan pita de supermercado, con tomate y queso). Comí una torta de lúcuma de postre, que parecían discos de merengues comprados en el supermercado, bañados con un poco de helado. Nada parece ser hecho por un chef o alguien que realmente cocine. Tiene mala carta de vinos y cervezas (casi puras tradicionales). Me desilusionó mucho el lugar. Aunque no es caro.

Un lugar maravilloso, con vista a toda la bahía de valpo, una terraza pulenta a la antigua, con toldos blancos y piso que parece tablero de ajedrez, eso es lo que ofrece el Brighton, que además de hotel es un hermoso restaurante, distinguible desde varios puntos de Valpo.
Fui un verano y sentí que realmente estaba retrocediendo en el tiempo, terraza rica, este lugar es una constante reminiscencia a los años dorados del querido puerto, de esas casonas donde se hacían eternas tertulias entre las personas acomodadas de la ciudad.
No es barato para ir todos los dias y excede bastante el presupuesto de cuando uno va a Valpo a comer por pocas lucas, la atención en sí es un poco lenta y no siempre es diligente, nosotros no hemos tenido drama pero amigos que han ido dicen que salva por la vista y ya. Lo que me encantó aquí es el martini dry que esta servido como debe ser y en vasos grandes. Y el gato arriba de la radio antigua

El Brighton es un hotel restorán que posee una de las terrazas más fabulosas del Puerto de Valparaíso. Yo me he dado el gusto de cenar en esta terraza y debo decir que verdaderamente es un lujo porque la casona también es hermosa y la escenografía sobretodo de noche es impactante, millones de lucecitas se ven hasta Viña del Mar.
La comida en este restorán es muy rica, bien elaborada y por supuesto bien gourmet porque el lugar lo amerita. La carta de tragos es super completa y debo decir que para lo que es este lugar no es caro, tampoco económico.
Los días viernes y sábado hay música en vivo a partir de las 22 Hrs. cuando yo fui había una cantante chilena-​francesa que cantaba increíble tipo Edith Piaf y como vienen muchos turistas franceses se armó una tremenda fiesta adentro del local.
El Brighton también es un pequeño hotel Bed and Breakfast que tiene pocas habitaciones donde puedes elegir la vista hacia el puerto o hacia los cerros.

I always come here with friends — it is by far one of the best places to grab lunch while soaking in the typical colorful houses and ocean view.
While sitting outside you see the city bustling below (I once sat here with friends, despite it drizzling, just to be able to enjoy the view).
To be honest, the food is nothing special but it is all about their drink options and desserts. They have some great coffees and cakes — especially good for a break after walking up the hills.
If you come during the afternoon and are looking for something to wet your whistle, I recommend opting for either a national wine or beer or one of their many different types of pisco sours to accompany your beautiful view.
The service is also good, although there is a bit of a wait for your food, they are friendly, bring you delicious bread, pebre and butter while you wait and will take a million pictures of you until you are happy (unfortunately, I had a friend that was kind of picky but the waiter continued to snap the pics until she was happy).
There are also cats that journey down from the streets and roam the patio. I personally was not too enamored by this however, I was with a couple of cat-​lover friends who were super happy and even fed them some of their fish (I don’t recommend this if you want them to leave).
Although somewhat overpriced (depending on what you order), the ambiance is classic and the checkered floors of the patio really make for beautiful photos.
They are not only a café, but also a hotel (I unfortunately, cannot comment on the rooms).
