The lamb popsicles(rare-medium rare) were just great. They rival those of VJ’s in Vancouver, but with Greek flare. Very Good ambience and talking with Steve, the owner, at the end of the evening finished the evening nicely.

When something came out not tasting good everyone fought us to say we were wrong. The veggies were raw and was stated that’s how the people want them yet it didn’t state that on menu. Worst restaurant experience EVER! I miss the old Steves. Go elsewhere

Tasty Lunch! Everything was seasoned perfectly! My mom barely enjoys any food now and she ate the most I have seen her eat in ages… awesome!

The one thing for certain at Steve’s, is when he is in the ‘house’ he will spend time with making certain you feel like a valued customer. That is fantastic. We wanted to celebrate a family event and they accommodated our group with ease. The service was friendly and attentive. While we were waiting for our main courses our waitress asked if we wanted the meal for our younger guest to be served early. Now THAT is thinking! Nicely done. We had a host of different mains. The soup and salad was excellent with a generous portion of the salad. The Island stir fry was an ideal portion size, the shrimps were big and juicy but the chicken portion was very small. The stuffed portable was nicely done. The stuffed chicken was wonderfully moist and tasty. However, like last visit, the veggies were not hot. They were cooked perfectly but it was like they were done first, then sat at the pass waiting for the rest of the meal to be finished. Two of us had the same experience. It was addressed right away, which was nice, but I would prefer if they got it right the first time. Overall a good meal and we were even provided a special dessert treat for the person celebrating a special night. Nicely done

From Toronto, visiting a friend in Winnipeg for their wedding. Found this place out of the blue searching for something near our hotel. Shared some tapas dishes: burger sliders, lemon dijon chicken and Greek bruschetta. Everything was delicious. Especially the lemon Dijon chicken. The sauce is to die for. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food came out fast and hot. I would definitely recommend and definitely be back. Great dining experience in Winnipeg!

Been back twice, still found the service to be great, however that last two times the food was not up to what I was expecting, still an OK place to go to, and will make it back here again soon.

Good service went during lunch time wasn’t busy at all that much. Usually have some sort of special hovering around 10 bucks or so. Pretty good good overall coupled with great service makes this a great choice if your in the area. Also has a cute little patio. O ya you have to order the fries whether it be a side or full dish their in house made.

I work in the area and find Steve’s Bistro to be a great place for lunch. The authentic Greek Salad is fantastic as is the Veggie Panini. Haven’t been since the addition of the patio but it’s about time a west end restaurant got the vision. Looks great and doesn’t take away from parking. Wednesday night is now includes live music and it’s a good idea to show up early.

A beautiful local eatery with charm and a certain personal emphasis. Steve has really done a smashing job with the interior of the restaurant with modern furnishings, lightening and sound system. This is a nice place for an intimate gathering. The food was a-OK. Perhaps not the best Greek food in the city of Winnipeg, but palatable. I was fortunate enough to dine on their pepper shrimp appetizer, which was very nicely done and seasoned. My entrée was a chicken gyro with a very hearty side of veggies. The gyro was dry and not authentic. The Greek garlic yogurt was bland. The pita was not as fresh as it could have been. I think Steve’s is more of an appetizer place or late night snacks. Its worth a try for something different. Good luck in Winnipeg.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a pretty blah exterior but the décor inside is very warm and stylish creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. This is a great little bistro with good prices. I don’t understand why Marion Warhoft(Wpg Free Press) went on and on about how high their prices are — so typical of Winnipeg to complain when a dish costs more than $ 10. I understand this was«Steve’s Place» — a burger joint for many years before he renovated it last year and turned it into the current Mediterranean bistro style menu. Starters are $ 8-$ 11 and there are grilled pitas with various dips for only $ 3. The«kopanisto» dip is absolutely delicious! It is a blend of roasted red peppers and feta with a hint of heat. This was a very addictive starter with pillowy soft warm pitas that were lightly seasoned. The«pepper shrimp»($ 9) is another great starter with garlic shrimp(6) in a creamy roasted red pepper sauce topped with feta and basil. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the grilled pita that came with the dish were great to scoop up that delicious sauce. Entrees range from $ 15-$ 29, with most in the $ 20 range. I enjoyed the«lamb rack chops»($ 28) where you get 4 chops in a whisky citrus sauce, side of veggies and lemon roasted potatoes. The lamb chops were cooked to a perfect medium rare and were very tender and moist. The sauce was good but a tad sweet for my tastes so I’d try another dish the next time. The lemon roasted potatoes were not the typical Greek ones that I was hoping for but more like a hash brown type with only a slight taste of lemon(there’s also the option of mashed potatoes or rice pilaf). The side of veggies were the largest portions I’ve seen in a while — tons of broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, and peppers. I liked that they were lightly seasoned(might be bland for some) but it’s way better than eating overly greasy and salty veggies. Service is very warm and genuine. I liked how the owner, Steve, greeted every table and took the time to either walk patrons out personally or say thanks and good night to all the customers.
